Mandatory OT at Aero Olathe to offset employees who are quitting

The genius’s are thinking working the employees that are still here more hours will offset the quitting of employees.
They can’t find qualified candidates to fill the openings.
It’s only gotta get worse at this site.

Write email to boss requesting normal work hours due to fatigue.
Print copies of denial.
Be aware of your fatigue and recognize that injuries like slip and fall, cuts, etc are now on them. It would be regrettable if you fall due to your exhaustion. Seek compensation and protection from retaliation with legal counsel.

HON makes out on using OT. They only have to pay 50% more per hour for direct labor with no additional benefit costs.

Also gets people hooked on living on OT and less likely to be able to afford to leave.

For non directs, no OT and if not open to non paid hours, more reasons to PIP and RIF.

HON wins all around.

Depending on how they handle the religious exemptions from the mandate, which has now been pushed back to January, there won't be enough people left to work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week like they were demanding at Frito Lay in Topeka...

Another pay increase for the top brass for coming up with such a brilliant and unique idea. They deserve their pay.

What you are experiencing was set in motion long before the pandemic. I suspect the pandemic has helped exacerbate the dysfunction but make no mistake. What you see in the workplace is NOT the result of the pandemic. The culture, pay, benefits, hours were all set in motion years ago.
