Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Silencing Employees

Considering silencing employees from expressing opinions in chat on future calls should come as no surprise as it is clear ELT is choosing money over freedom and human rights. Everyone thought Big Tech silencing certain people on social media platforms last year was just a one time thing. That was only the beginning to silencing the people who have differing opinions as we see now. I thought CR said last year during the social injustice to take the time to listen to someone with different perspective from you. Apparently that does not happen when money is involved. I am glad in Texas that companies like Southwest actually have the boldness to stand up for freedom and human rights and willing to follow the science.

"Im sorry that your feelings were hurt by honest, open feedback to a ridiculous company madate. Grow up. Seriously, grow up."

You grow up.....sounds like your feelings were hurt by honest open feedback to ridiculous children behaving poorly. You think that is how to convey open and honest feedback in a company setting? You truly have growing to do, youngling.

"I don't see it as "silencing employees". The sole purpose of that broadcast was to receive information. A bunch of unprofessional yahoos hijacked the chat panel and used it like a personal soapbox, spewing unsolicited opinions in overemotional outbursts and attacking each other. It looked like the trashy comments section on a Daily Mail article. This was terrible misuse of a company resource. If employees prove themselves incapable of professionally using said resource, it should be shut down."

"Well, chuckie and fran were clear on the call about making decisions based on philosophical beliefs..."

Look at how pathetically political all these complaints are. You don't like to work with "woke" people (meaning people who don't vote how you vote, who don't look like you or think like you?), then just quit. You clearly are not equipped to live in a diverse society that is the United States of America. Go and work for MyPillow guy - he may be hiring.

What is it you don't understand about "at will employment"? You will bend to your employers will or be fired.

Well, chuckie and fran were clear on the call about making decisions based on philosophical beliefs - the place is nothing more that a revenue stream and re-education center for the left's agenda. Giving millions to the blm thugs was proof enough. Add spreading the false narrative of voter suppression in Georgia and a number of other places. Let;s go Brandon, chuckie, fran, and mm.

"We’re anti government overreach"

You do realize many governments require Cisco be the sole provider of government network equipment. That same government overreach is what pays your salary. Imagine if Cisco had to compete with Huawei, Fujitsu, and NEC in North America? Our profit margins would be minuscule

So you should leave Cisco and apply for a job at Southwest.

Every day people raise their hand and say “fire me!” Just like in the early BLM check-ins.

The company should take them up on it.

And anyone posting "hello from . . ." should be fired, just as anyone who replies all to "remove me from this email" should be. My hot take :)

its not "being silenced" when you have SO many forums to say your thoughts. Your feelings are hurt, at best. People feel like they can be rude and if they get push back, its them being silenced. Embarrassing and juvenile. Getting a vaccine is a social injustice? How about you listen to the other side and talk to someone who lost their family from Covid? But you wont listen to that....

You're not being suppressed. You're just an imbecile turning a simple matter into a huge political fight because you don't possess the education level required to filter noise from signal. You do have a choice: don't get vaxxed, leave Cisco and find a job in a company that upholds your nonsensical beliefs. Simple really.

There never should have been a chat function available for any company broadcasts in the first place. Q&A is good enough. Listen to the broadcast/call and STFU.

Many were upset as the ELT has made it clear that they are not going to push back to the mandate. They are not willing to stand up to something that is against human rights. They are not willing to stand up for people that were asking legitimate questions about natural immunity which is better than an artificial shot. Yes they have to follow the mandate but they could also lead the effort on human rights of people.

We're all adults. Actions have consequences.

Act unprofessional and spout hate instead of asking genuine questions or making comments that are not attacking, demeaning or hateful and you won't lose your privileges of making comments.

When the comments distract from the purpose of the meeting, which was to inform us of what decisions the ELT had made, and what we needed to do, then the chat needs to go away.

I don't care one way or the other about the mandate. I'm required to get the vaccination under multiple guidelines, so Cisco complying with the Ex Order didn't really impact me. You can voice your opinion professionally in disagreement with Chuck, Fran and the rest of the ELT. But when you get abusive, you lose the right to post your opinion.

I think the person who made the comparison to Na-i Germany is what pushed Chuck over the fence on the chat issue.

I was embarrassed. It wasn't a forum to express yourself and your beliefs. It was a session to explain the options in front of all of us. Certainly didn't help anyone case.

You are not being silenced.

Try not asking the same questions over and over again because you don't like the answer.

I think it is more about the rudeness and sometime viciousness of comments. Serves only to divide as there's little empathy.
