Delay in rolling out 5Ghee service

The delay helps T-Mobile lock in 5G customers before Verizon and AT&T have improved their coverage, Blair Levin, an analyst with New Street Research, said in a note.
"A one-month delay will not have a material impact," Levin wrote.
"But the question remains whether the delay will continue to a point at which it will hurt Verizon and AT&T while benefiting T-Mobile."

5Ghee. Could be worse. If it was 5Z he would probably pronounce that as 5Zed.

5Ghee. That’s part of the problem when the CEO can’t pronounce 5G correctly.

Bad bet from Hans & Kyle , they needs to pay the price for this Blunder , the audacity of them to say stock went down due to industry wide issues when T-mo just added a million adds !!! what a bunch of losers.

@sls+1dFKoD54... as a wireless engineer, I am far more concerned about the vaccine mandates being forced on us. I really don't care about anything else right now.

@wcy great post and thanks for the detail. Regardless of whether vz works through this faa issue the unfavorable optics and press will remain and that doesn’t bode well long term. T mobile used to have to worst quality and once the got their hands on that sprint mid band they jumped ahead of vz and att.

This is what happens when accountants and customer service people are allowed to run a fairly sophisticated American telecom 'engineering' behemoth.

Apparently there may not have been enough duck and bunny preso slides to explain this to the powers that be.

Why does history keep repeating itself here?

It seems that the only good deal done for the shareholders and employees was taking out Vodafone.

This has been a fantasy disaster from the beginning and the millimeter wave waste of money. Now we are impeding air traffic systems. And more wrongly than right, too many citizens groups are voicing concerns to their local politicos that they are concerned about being fried like bacon in a 5G microwave.

Compare this ham fisted approach to T-Mobile's less bombastic foray into 5G, which allows them to be bombastic about

Time for a new board, or does Blackrock and Vanguard want the company to become a social justice company and fledgling telecom?

This really is embarrassing, they are laying off the wrong people:

Vz would need to adjust their 5G deployment plans to avoid accidently broadcasting into a nearby airports ILS system /pathway.... just to be safe. Any wireless engineers out there to chime in?
