clearly you don't have any idea. Are you the child of boomers or even genx?

or are you one of those woke socialist who think everyone should be paid the same no matter their experience?

I know many of people who work hard, do not feel entitled and it does not matter what their generation is. They are self driven. For you to say what you said it seems clear to me that you are one of those that feel entitled yourself, you do not appreciate what others have accomplish and your sing your praises to your manager so you can get ahead without doing any work.

“…… the spoiled, entitled Baby Boomers ..”
Can confirm. Boomers and spoiled and entitled and will always fudge some story about how “hard” they worked for everything. Such a joke.

As a Gen Xer, I can say I've seen high performers and contributors in boomer, Gen X, Y & Z, as well as them in opposite spectrums. What really comes down to it is to the individual and how effective their work is delivered. Generation does add experience but the motivation and tenaciousness has nothing to do with what generations you are classified in.

Boomer here. UK based. We had to deal with 10%+ mortgage rates that could totally sc--w you if you overextended. There was one particular day when they went up to 15%! And contrary to popular opinion, we didn't sit in groups wondering how we could sc--w up future generations - we did the same as you are doing now, we just tried to get by :-) and it wasn't always easy, just as it isn't easy for you folks.

entitled baby boomers, I as a baby boomer never felt entitled!

I worked hard over the years both in IBM and outside of IBM. I built a career at IBM where I worked hard and help make the company successful (yes we were at one time). I also built an outside career in real estate investing and worked both jobs many days. It allowed me to

  1. put my kids through college with no loans. they had to work for spending money and car insurance
  2. be in a position to retire early if I came to a point where it was not fun working at IBM. you will be surprised how much fun IBM can be to work at when your not looking over your shoulder for the RAs.

In the 70s a friend's dad was a top IBM salesman. He showed me a think mag and said read the letter from the chairman (Frank Carey) In that letter to employees Mr. Carey said that IBM was a great place to work, but do not put all your eggs in one basket, have things outside IBM also. I took that to heart and followed it when I joined IBM.

you are incorrect when you say that baby boomers feel entitled. We grew with with parents who were children or young adults during the depression and WWII. They knew what it was to work hard and they instilled that in us. If the boomers are guilty of anything it might be that we made things to easy for our kids, and some of our kids feel entitled.

If they were guilty of being entitled it was that we thought our kids were entitled to things we did not have growing up. ie go to Disney every year or expensive vacations every year.. and so on...

The bottom line is we boomers do not feel entitled.. we were taught to work hard. I grew up hearing from my parents.. "we did better than our parents and you will do better than us."

I for one installed that in my 3 kids now in their 30s and all are doing better than I was doing at their age....

So don't dump on us boomers and call us entitled when clearly you are mistaken with your observation.

I see them as the same generation as I’m Gen X. The Gen Xers are wedged between the spoiled, entitled Baby Boomers and the spoiled, entitled genZ/millennials.
