Does it play a factor on the union side for any entry level employees to move up to a higher paying union job ?

No. But if sell out your fellow union member when you're ready to go a 1st level management job, you might get it faster.
Not anymore, 30 or 40 years ago it was a way for people to get into management but those days are long gone...... These days you can expect to leave at the same level you arrived, no matter how many years that is. Always do your best and earn your pay each day and 'politely' let your superiors and peers know that you would be interested in a promotion and you never know what opportunities might arise......

- Do you have time in title / time in job to qualify for a transfer.
- Is there an open position.
- Have you passed the required testing if applicable.
- Do you have seniority over other transfer requests that you have submitted for that position.
