@4mqo, the luxurious toilet paper is reserved for the soft tushy bottoms of our soft tushy executives. Either bring your own TP or sneak on up to the executive bathrooms on the top floors.

@eqk, yes, I agree 100%, I am looking forward to getting back to a normal life and routine and seeing the gang. I don't mind showing up for work, that's what I was hired to do. I didn't go to school for all those years, interview and accept a job so that I could stay at home and play video games while pretending to be working, nor did I expect to be paid for that. What's all the fuss about?

I don't miss the TP, and will bring my own. If you aren't tactical with the TP, you will bleed. That stuff must be engineered with smal amounts of fiberglass shards in it, to prevent over use.

Any houston fellows have a screenshot of how the inside of the office looks?

I haven't seen the inside of the houston office, only seen the outside. I am curious whats the layout. Is it like a cube that can sit 4 people (people who sit in ur department sit in ur cube? each person has their own corner?

Also I saw a YT video of the houston office, did they upgrade the monitors? It seems like they are using monitors from the early 1900's

Referencing the holocaust and making an analogy that its similar to vaccine stickers and being forced to get a vaccine is sick. Anti vax conservatives always amaze me how far they go. They are dragging down the US. The vaccines save lives and are safe compared to what the Nazis did. Stop believing conspiracy theories from people with no education in anything (maybe mopping floors) and listen to experts.

Are the Vac stickers going to be the Star of David or is it going to be the other symbol used by the Na-i.

From the looks of it sounds like we may get the star. At least that way we will know we are on fact the ones who will be led to sl------r.

Wonder if there will be rewards to turning in the others who don’t have a star and are walking around without a mask. I know the Na-i had rewards for it, hopefully we will implement their processes and procedures on that while we are labeling all of our employees with visual indicators.

They need to subsidize lunches. Remember how expensive the cafeteria was before. Can’t wait to see how much it’s gone up with inflation. Drive to the office then get lunch. There goes another $25 /day. Oh wait that was pre Covid prices post covid numbers will be $45/day.

Oh by the way if you haven’t seen the new dining room it’s fancy. Glade to see us spending money on furniture for the cafe and increasing food prices. Your the best.

Not looking forward to the commute to the office, to then spend my time in a cube and on teams calls all day.

No opinion on OP's question, but realize it took us 6 months to get used to WFH, it's going to take another 6 months to get used to actual human interaction again. A hybrid schedule will mess it up even more.

I'm trying to figure out what to do about these stupid stickers!

Even though I'm vax'd, medical stuff shouldn't be on your employee badge.
Just doesn't sit well with me. I was already apprehensive about uploading a vaccine card with the company but now you have to wear it like a yellow star.

(it probably is a yellow star isn't? - anybody confirm?)

I've never been to the Houston office since being hired.

Can fellow houston employees tell me what's great about the office?

With new surge in Europe, I would say there will be one coming on our way in December, and the RTW will be postponed once again. Do not worry too much until the actal date arrives.

It will be great to get back to normal and feed on energy of teams in person. Will be good for business for sure as we have lost energy not interacting face to face

Oh, this is horrible. I've so much missed my stab-you-in-the-back co-workers the last 20 months. I miss spending two hours per day accomplishing nothing while stuck in Houston traffic. My car will miss all those door dings from the way-too-narrow spaces in the Smith St. garage. I guess I'll have to start actually attending team meetings rather than 'looking involved' but playing solitaire (or working on my resume) on the other monitor. Mostly I will miss jumping out of bed at 7:55 to 'attend' an 8:00 meeting, and logging off at 2:00 while I 'work offline' with Netflix.

They might take the approach for a hybrid schedule.. depending on your team this can happen.

For my WFH people, there is a still chance to do WFH.
For commute people, start getting use to technology and be prepared for some WFH days..

I’m never going back. If you’re an experienced Techie, now is the time to make your move, escape the infinite oil & gas sh!tshow, and work from home permanently for someone else. Hopefully you’ve been interviewing and testing the waters all this time. Fûck commuting, fûck oil & gas, fûck cubes, fûck smith street, fûck it all. This is your one shot. Seize the moment.

Absolutely not. I work hard at home and get just as much done without the long wasteful commute. Yes not everyone works hard at home but can't the same be said of people in the office? Aren't there people who just hang out and chat all day or play on their phone at their desk? Lazy people will be lazy no matter where they are just as hard workers will be the same everywhere. I like spending time with my family and if I want water cooler talk I'll teams message someone and chat. Let's get rid of antiquated ideas and allow more work from home to allow for a better quality of life for workers.

I am looking forward to seeing and working side by side with my coworkers, resuming by normal career and having a normal life. Chevron has very little to do with that, it just happens to be my current employer. I am not a stay at home, lazy, screwin' around most of the time type person like the majority of the folks pushing for permanent WFH. As if anyone can't see right through that. Please. It's so obvious that it's become a joke.

I really missed spending hours in my car commuting! It was a time I could spend on coming up with ideas on how to make the company more successful! Also investing in company products in order to “give back”

Email was sent to ABU employees that due to significant cash flow made by the ABU all in Perth are getting an additional $5k to spend on home office (work from home) if they like or can come into the office.

I am.. it's sounds very weird but I am finally happy to see some people that I enjoyed working with.

Also, I really need to get back in shape so the gym at the office will def help with that. Really big one for me is to get back in the gym.
