Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Worst Company Ever

This is the worst company ever after 10+ years I have never been treated so horrible then ever before. They terminate you If you take time off for a LOA. I got sick really bad and took a leave of absence but Sedgwick is the worst in handling any processes. They never removed my points and the manager terminated me. His response everyone is sick but we have a goal to meet. All the managers care about is the bonus they receive after all the employees work hard and run the store while they sit in the office and dictate behind a desk. This company has changed so much there are no more values any more!!! They work you like a dog and all you are to them is just another number!!!!

This is true. I took 4 days of short-term disability to recover from surgery after years of service and great performance evaluations. They attempted to coach me within a month of my return, but had texts with specific instructions from my MM (They are all soooooo evil!) to cover my handling of the situation. Within 3 months I received a negative review without documentation despite my high performance on the metrics that even my club manager couldn't understand. Three months after that I was coached and labeled as irresponsible for using a piece of equipment that had been in place longer than I had even worked in the club despite the fact that the MM was aware I was using it and had never said a word about it. I was on the fast train to termination but was able to find another job. My new boss tells me almost every week that he was glad Sam's was stupid enough to let me go.

Using Sedgwick puts you on their radar IMHO.

Dont know your situation. But I know I am tired of the extra work to cover for people being out on multiple loas. We have one id--t that has been out 3 times for covid. How the he-l do you catch it 3 times are you licking doorknobs?

You can not be terminated because you took a LOA. I would be willing to bet your LOA was denied. Not because you were not sick but because you didn’t submit the required medical documentation. Obviously, you feel the need to be a victim and have a huge sense of entitlement.

They can't fire you if your time away was covered under loa. They have to remove those points. You should open door with your GM. Then call ethics if that doesn't work. Then call BBB the news and a lawyer. by law they can not fire you for that if you were on LOA.

Call the attorney general of your state. They will respond to you within a couple days. If you were fired unjustly they will advise you on how to proceed with this. Remember to tell the whole truth. You can get burned if you don't
