VPs and Officers have been given retention bonuses

All VPs and Officers have been given proactive retention bonuses to stay with T. As far as how much they’ve been given, not sure. A director friend just quit last week and was offered a $100k / 3 yr retention bonus but said KMA and walked anyways.

Retention bonus are pretty common right now. I am level 3 and got a 3 yr. / 100K offer as well (25, 25, 50). Works out pretty well considering middle of the paygrade is $235K plus 19% bonus. Add quarterly bonus opportunities, 401K match, and the HSA bump and you have a third of a million per year. Not too bad. Invest wisely and that grows into a KMA fund quickly. My fund is already there, but keeps on growing. Good times...

Stankey sure knows how to throw away money. He needs to use any extra cash to pay down the debt.

McFresh said back in March/April that merit increases were cut short, due to money went to bonus payout. Guess what he is going say next, merit increases will but cut short, money went to retaining executives who are extremely well compensated.

Thanks for sharing. I was wondering why so many younger (not retirement eligible) AVPs were leaving. They are just as valuable as a VP in the open market, but without the ridiculous perks, bloated comp and now large retention bonuses keeping them here. I see AVP departures accelerating (by that I mean the good ones).

What a waste of cash! There are none worth a retention bonus. They all need a cut in salary until share price is increased to $40 a share and all debt is cleared. What a joke.

Y’all keep believing that this could be a great company with just a few changes. Large corporations are never about the people, the product, or the legacy. It’s always about lining the pockets of those at the top. Just remember that most of these major corporations are run by woke hard left ra-----s. Keep paying your union dues and say yes sir. They’ll let you go when you no longer provide them what they need. Ignorance is bliss…

What a sad state of affairs that a company has to counter with retention money to keep it's work force from leaving. This thing call Trust goes a long way and when your shareholders and employees don't trust you, they leave. If more people stand up and tell leadership to take this job and shove it, JTS will be forced to resign. Change is a coming for these so called business leaders at the top that are just collecting a check not contributing to creating a business strategy to get AT&T out of this rut. For those that have managed to escape, open season for picking of talent that remains at ATT talent. Sorry ATT don't take it personally, it's just how business works.

I was a 2nd line, was given the work of 3-4 2nd lines as people quit or retired. Finally, I had enough and was being courted by external companies.

Gave my notice, got the h out of dodge. What's crazy is when I gave my notice I was offered more pay, 30% more, WTF! I would have had to work 15 yrs for that had I not threatened to leave! I told them to take their 30% and shuv it.

I'm gone, its better over the fence.

I’m sorry but business is changing. The only skill set that should receive a retention bonus or sign on bonus is technical skills. I’m sorry, but MBAs are a dime a dozen. There are no AVP or VP here worth retaining. If they were worth their value companies would be trying to poach them with big raises.
What you see here is all of those folks feeding off the company t-e-e-t until they retire.

If you’ve been paying attention, retention bonuses are often extended for certain positions and especially during this period of ‘the great resignation’. Signing bonuses are routine if your skills are highly coveted. Companies want to attract and retain talent they deem valuable. And those bonuses aren’t available only to those with VP titles…ATT is not exceptional to this practice.

Why are retention bonuses being given? The company has fallen $110 billion below Neflix. The market value of the company is worth less than its outstanding debt!!!

T shares at $24.74, should kick them all out. Isn't that what the leadership team is supposed to do? Increase the share price for the stockholders.
