Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Wrong direction!?

Why do many here think that BNYM is heading in the wrong direction? I don't like the situation as it is here now, but many pretend to be great, insightful visionaries and experts who know that Mellon is on the wrong track... It's a bit pathetic, isn't it? I don’t want to offend anyone, but sometimes I feel like people who don't feel like working here anymore want the worst to happen to the company after they leave.

Mellon isn’t on the wrong track, the right track or any track at all.. Mellon was derailed and hasn’t existed for at over 15 years.

I am not wishing the bank crashes down, just the CEO.

It doesn't take much insight to see that a company is essentially nothing more than it's employees. It's just good business sense to treat them right. But instead we treat them sooo bad that it actually crosses the line of unethical. I'm not saying we should shower them with raises and bonuses, but there is PLENTY we could do to offer them dignity and short term security.
And even though they canned me earlier this year, I still wear my BNY tee shirts that were my payment for hundreds of hours of overtime over the years.

I don’t really care about the Bank now. I was upset they let me go, but it all worked out great for me and I’m in a much better position now. I do care about my coworkers some of which would not be so lucky if they left, and who the company actively exploits. Like my Indian teammates who were literally begging for some time off rather than working crazy hours to meet another stupid internal deadline. The stress was making some of them ill, and for what? So some higher up looks good and gets a fatter bonus check? I worry about those guys and hope they make it out.

I don't work there anymore and I pray that the worst happens to the bank. Best thing to happen to me was to get a separation package. Company has gone downhill and cares very little for it's employees.
