Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Are we the best?

Where do we rank with the top 10 oil and gas companies as business goes? I think we might taking that #2 spot, putting Shell at #1.

What are the rankings and why? Top 10 best oil and gas companies.

OP - you can check the metrics yourself. Go to finance.chevron.com, then to Comptroller's, then find the Competitor Analysis page. It has quarterly reports of CVX vs other majors.

Better than the best!

Pick which year that gem came out!

I started with Chevron in 1983 in California and “retired” in Houston in 2009.

And I thought CVX was effed in 2009. 😆

#1 oil and gas loser when it comes to useless initiatives, social jargon and distractions, and lack of focus and prioritization on things that matter. Nothing strategic but following social and market trends to appease investors . Employees and work culture are mediocre at best. Who is really feeling purposeful, challenged, and fulfilled? No real or fair career development or selections. It’s about who you know and what you’re willing to do or if you are related to some VP or manager. Technological accomplishments are underwhelming. IT and Digital groups and HR are managed chaos. Cost tracking is a nightmare - does anyone even really care? Blindsided by arrogance as exemplified by OP and manipulated benchmarking data used to paint false pictures to managers and make folks feel better about themselves and provide a sense of “winning”. Can’t see what differentiates chevron when it comes to workplace other than maybe market cap and share prices. CVX may be around for a while compared to others…but is it worth settling for long term mediocrity?

As Chevron management keeps repeating, we may be the best house in a terrible neighborhood, but that’s a dubious distinction. MW wants us to be the No 1 stock in the market. He is failing miserably to date.

OP you need to be dr-g tested.

The ranking is not done by the employees it’s done by what company wants to pay the most. There is no way ChevWoke would be rated in the top 10 at anything besides being woke.

Fossil fuel companies are at rock bottom ranking, it does not matter if one of us is slightly higher or above other peers, when you are a sinking ship the ranking is useless as we will all be rest in dumpster of history in about 2 to 3 decades.
