In short, a company that makes new welfare recipients every year - it was well described by a poster on this forum. The number of employees is decreasing from year to year, and those who remain are more and more overwhelmed with work from year to year. That is the message for all those who are considering getting a job here, that they should see Verizon only as a temporary gig. I wonder how many fewer Verizon employees will there be in a year, two, three?

From a balance sheet perspective, decreasing employees means more cash on hand which means you have more money to pay off your liabilities.
Additionally if the market thinks you are shedding employees as part of a lean and efficient operation, then they will reward the company in terms of an increase in stock price.
What is the bottom line with the decrease in the workforce, W-2 employees? Is it reducing costs and then taken as expenses? I am not a well informed financial savvy chap but just simply curious? Curious, what is the net net?
You still believe US is a first world country? :)
Fare well, OP.
Fare thee well.
"In short, a company that makes new welfare recipients every year"
First of all this company has been run by welfare recipients that sit around and do nothing all day, for the past 10 years. Second of all who cares, am I right?
We will be at 75K people in two to three years. Most functions will be owned by a 3rd party or given to a 3rd/4th world country. A lot of executives have taken the package in this round
If you are still here, let go of fear and test the waters. You would be surprised that a lot of mid sized companies are looking for experienced people.
Be kind to yourself and your family.
