Got fired and was told by my manager doing the firing that part of their bonus is determined by the headcount reduction and cost of replacements.

Couple of obvious HR people in here, lol.
Before Mckinsey came into tr and wrecked things more, management in AA were master manipulators of the weak minded, earning their large bonuses for driving cheap labor and selling overpriced garbage.
Now that cheap labor is even cheaper over in India, with directors and managers raking in the cash.
And HR was in the room with this manager ?
@1uew+1dKgBH2F - Prove that it did.
@1jau+1dKgBH2F
Prove it.
A very revealing post. Ask yourself why a company would pay large bonuses to their managers to RIF some of their direct reports? This is not the first post here about managers being paid large bonuses for RIFing direct reports. If this is indeed happening, it calls into question the "fairness" of the entire layoff process when it appears that a large component of the process is governed/driven by a manager's personal preferences of who goes/who stays. At the end of the day people are losing their livelihoods here. Ironic also that large bonuses can be paid to managers when cost cutting is to the fo-e.
People are surprised by this and doubt it?
This was common knowledge for those paying attention in Ann Arbor. Went on for years.
I had an immediate manager and director tell me the same thing, except I wasn't fired, I quit.
There's no way that happened.
Wow. Idk why they would announce it like that. Truly incompetent.

You're not supposed to say the quiet part out loud, lol.
Who promoted that id--t to management?
TR has its own form of social promotion. If you are socially "buds" with someone who can promote you, you will be promoted, regardless of your ability. Refinative had the same program, but the head of the cartel was just "retired from business".
Didn't retire from attention seeking on Linkedin though. That garishly ornamented rotund visage is still popping into my feed now and then.
Appalling. Any manager who would tell an employee that should be fired immediately without severance. Seriously, you need to name names and take this up the chain to the very top of the company, or to the press. DON'T LET THIS GO. What have you got to lose, you've already been fired. This cannot be allowed. Your manager is an imbecilic, unprofessional loose cannon. If this is an example of the people that they keep, I'm grateful that they fired me.
The sort of comment made by someone who is socially inept/clueless. There’s no hope. Hope you find work soon. All the best.
Why on earth would they tell you that? I’m not doubting you — just saying. Is that in any way helpful information??
