Southeast had a strike in 2019. lasted 3 days ish. Management drove in waving to craft and either logged at the work center to continue doing their current job or left in a truck to do nothing. The managers confirmed upon our return that virtually no craft work was being done.

I received a letter offering me $75 per hour to work strike as a retiree. Told them I'd be glad to work anywhere they send me for $175 per hour and was told that no, they are only paying me $75, told them my price just went up to $200 per hour if they wanted my talents. They said no only paying $75, this went on and I told them fine, you contacted me so now I would not work for any amount for you, don't call me back.

I wish they picked me to do the work. Not that I want to replace a union person because I'm fully behind them, but it seems more exciting that the sh*t they have me doing day to day. Would love to experiment on doing an install job on someone else's wall first.

Don’t flatter yourselves, boys. No one is indispensable. Do you really think the corporation can’t survive without you…? Really?? Every corporation and even moderate size companies have business continuity plans in place….T will survive without you, trust me, fellas.

Some of us Mgt employees do know how to repair the eqpt. I do, I did. Didn't miss craft for 1 second. In fact, the C.O. alarms are actually less frequent as less mistakes are made causing eqpt alarms, resets, issues. Less "defective eqpt" sent to vendors for repairs when the eqpt is not defective when craft are striking. Go strike ya'll. Free food, drinks, overtime and I'm having fun.
Unfortunately, Smell is saving money on not paying your salary and health insurance. But believe me, Craft - you are not missed!

To all the Union guys that strike, just know that the management folks are required to attend their contingency assignments or lose their jobs. They overwhelmingly support you guys and your efforts. We are not allowed to speak with you, so when we wave as we drive by, that’s our sign of solidarity. No one thinks they can really take your place.

There was most definitely management doing “craft” jobs during SBC days. I know because I did it. Strike around Memorial Day.

We even got a bonus for enduring it. Think it lasted 4 days.

Are these contingency plans even needed given the fact the union is so weak and they will never strike. Only strikes I have seen in 23 years are the “one day” informational picket days. Oh no… T just suppresses installs for one day or reroutes calls.

Never in my 25+ years did I see management work craft jobs during a strike.

I can fill those shoes right up and no one will notice your gone, I did that fiber/cable repair job for half of my career before I decided to jump the fence and go to management. Now that I’m here and see what a complete SH** Show they have turned this place in to, I’m gonna smile and go over, but if you think for one second I’m gonna turn a sc--w and help them out while you guys stand up for better pay and this d-mb A** vaccine mandate your nuts. I’ll be as loyal to them as they have been to all my friends they have laid off over the past 5-6 years. As they say “don’t get mad, get EVEN.” I hope you guys “get even” too, good luck.

It’s crazy that almost all the CO training is now done online. Union leadership knows management employees will not be ready to fill in with any significant contribution.
Get your vacation in early since it will soon be harder to take.
