The number of managers at NOV is incredible. Pretty much all of them are overpaid.
Since they don’t seem to be particularly efficient, the question is do we need all these managers?
I try to imagine what NOV would look like with far fewer managers, or at least without those whose job, in my opinion, boils down to making it difficult for us to get our work done.
Sure thang maybe NOV could turn a profit if all that dead wood namely the fu----g useless multiple numbers of parasitic managers were shown the door.
Come on how many managers does NOV need?
There will however always be someone waiting in the wings ready to backstab their colleagues in order get on and climb the greasy management pole despite having no engineering knowledge or experience. They will do this by crawling with their direct manager and flirting and cooing with the others.

Too many chiefs not enough indians
When you don't have a good plan for meritocracy and you are only concerned with reducing salaries and $$ then it is managers who make all the decisions. When will a manager lay themselves off?
There are too many managers but it's up to the senior leadership to put rules and standards in place to ensure that people who contribute stay and those who don't get gone.

All management cares about is the dollar signs. Everything else takes a back seat. Morale, safety, taking care of the employees, customer service etc…

I think your biased opinion is a manifestation of your negative attitude towards management .
I know the management are subliminally attempting to facilitate you do your job the best way possible im sure your manager has your interests at heart.
