Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Worst groups to work in Cisco

  1. SDWAN and enterprise switching - Fancy nothing works really great
  2. Data center networking - old software in new box

3 CX

Overall Cisco is rite place for people surviving on others work and showing as if they did and noise makers who want promotions every year

We are all mosaic stones. If our product is great, it's not because of "me". If our product is bad, it's not because of "me". Working for one of these "worst groups" can be still rewarding.

I would call 'toxic groups' to be 'worst groups' to work for.

Yes CX used to be exactly that.
Like the great Bob once sang. The times they are a changing
And to put it more correct they have changed.
Working in CX nowadays is looking over your shoulder to see what self promoting project comes your way which is again the newest greatest to claim solving climate change...
Sorry to have scattered your view on CX

It’s so sad that everyone says CX. That used to be the last bastion of excellence in the company. Long time ago…

  1. I’ve gotten dragged into a CX project because they don’t have the skills.

Recently we’re getting some overlord demanding that we attend a heap of BS training.
The latest is that we need to develop a “Project Safety Plan” for every project.
This is like the UK’s National Health Service— there are 10 admins for every clinician.

The TAC delivery team has been treated like the funder for all the CX investments. That goes back to the Edzard days and before. Need to hire a new VP, tax the TAC. Need to fund a bunch of non-customer facing initiatives, tax the TAC. Invest in a bunch of automation to help the TAC, tax them but don't deliver any value. The offshoring was just a function of doing more with less for 10 straight years.

Finance - the lack of actual basic finance and accounting knowledge in some folks is staggering. Not only is this not addressed but these same folks get promoted.

WebEx BU is a great place to be! We are creating hologram technology that will allow cisconians to reach out and touch Chucky’s tears at his next struggle session check in.

“ Translation: "I am an incompetent and limited worker but since I am also entitled, I blame social justice for my inadequacies and inability to compete in the real world". Fixed it for you.”

Nope. You didn’t fix anything. You merely proved my point that diversity hires such as yourself are a thing. Cheers!

Cx more precisely the org formerly known as TAC. Constant cost cutting, neverending stream of people leaving and new initiatives to promote people rather then solve problems.

CX is worst of the company, worst of the tech industry, worst of the world.
No skill, no work experience required. It is a team of kids.

Depends on how you define worst groups. In some groups, there is practically minimal to zero work. But as a business, they are abysmal failures. Zoom ate them for breakfast.

IT and Ops.. there is nothing technical about the whole group. Its about "Businesses and processes" You outsource any meaningful work. Blue badges have to headhunt red badges and work on PPTs while justifying costs and playing political battles. If you want to ki-l your career, this group is the perfect place.

Operations & IT have constant political battles. Hiding or renaming failed strategic initiatives is the daily routine.

Too many layers of Directors and Managers with no role or responsibilities.

"CX was the worst in my experience. Largely due to V2Momma’s never ending social justice crusades and diversity hires based on immutable characteristics, not skills or work experience."

GSSO is one of the worst sales organizations I have ever been a part of. The global sales and engineering leadership is clueless.
