Do you think there may be small/medium/large Bank of America layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

I honestly do not believe they will ever bring unvaxxed back to an office...and there's no way they will allow some to wfh and not others OR give a hybrid option (my direct manager has admitted as much). ALL new hires are required to be jabbed, so it wouldn't make sense they will be ok with a 'mixed' office....and once the segregation starts, that opens them up to lawsuits. There have been 204 NEW Senior Mgmt hires in the last 6 months so they are gearing up for something. They will likely need to hold off on letting the unvaxxed go until they have enough staff in place, but keep in mind that we've heard over and over (including from BM himself), they can operate on 80% staff. So be prepared.

@3acp+1dLa4cfZ They will likely force everyone back in the office to some extent, but I do not think they will allow vaccinated and unvaccinated to sit together. They have no way of enforcing mask wearing, BofA hasn’t even been compliant with local ordinances in Charlotte this year..

There are a lot of unanswered questions with how the Bank will logistically bring everyone back in a safe way. Those who were vaccinated over 6 months ago would need a booster before returning to a full office as well. That makes up the majority of vaccinated associates in the portal, so in a way we are starting over.

Just seems like the insistence on “being an office company” is opening a whole host of risks and issues with little reward. All of this could easily be avoided by just continuing the current posture. But have to believe we will end up with a hybrid work arrangement… there’s just no other way to safely bring everyone back.

I do seriously wonder if they will actually force unvaxxed to RTO and then scarlet letter all the unvaxxed forcing them to wear a mask all day while their obedient counterparts get to breath freely.

They won’t need to lay off with the amount of people that will leave right after payouts in February. Not to mention they can’t fill any roles due to lack of flexibility.

If they don’t allow a hybrid work arrangement by the time bonuses are paid, then BofA will easily meet and likely surpass their attrition/RIF goal… so doubtful there will be any broad based layoffs.

They can’t even backfill most open roles right now… Candidates declining offers left and right due to the lack of remote/hybrid options as well as a large % applying for external roles due to pi-s poor out of touch leadership positions.

Bank will survive but morale and culture will not.

That may be too far out to predict. WIth the uncertainty with the economy and attrition there will similar levels of 2021 RIFs is a guess.

I heard non vaccinated people will be let go. JK. This topic is so old. I figured I’d jump start the conversation. Masks. Shots. The universal sign of “I’m not wearing my mask” is looking at a masked person in the eyes as you cross paths and tapping your chest and pockets like you’re looking for your mask. Carry on and shut up.
