Thread regarding IBM layoffs

IBM stock was flying high in 2012? Does that mean IBM was doing amazing?

Actually, at that time, from the outside world's perspective, the industry was still impressed with IBM's perceived lead in AI with Watson/Jeopardy, and we had not yet squandered that lead, we were making impressive noises about cloud, and the Roadmap 2015 was still plausible. Buffet was buying IBM.

So the stock price in 2012 was not just guessing. Knowing that morale was not good internalIy, I dumped as much as I was allowed to in 2013 and invested it elsewhere ... and very very glad I did.

Whoever keeps focusing on short term stock price has very little idea how thing work, there are so many examples of stock dropping that don't necessarily mean anything in the long run. Remember IBM stock was flying high in 2012? Does that mean IBM was doing amazing? No, it sure wasn't. Stock is the view of wall street analysts, most of whom are literally just guessing. Stock matters, but to focus 100% on a company's stock is what got is into this mess in the FIRST PLACE.

Love the move. It's just the beginning. IBM throught they would use Kyndryl as their store front. IBM is about to get cut out of all of Kyndryl's contracts. IBM doesn't have enough contracts w/o Kyndryl to stand on its own. IBM is going to be sold before Kyndryl.

Maybe they get lucky and Microsoft buys them.

The value of kyndryl stock has dropped almost 50% since becoming a public company. IBMers are dumping their shares. What does that tell you!!! SH-T COMPANY!!!
