Does Chevron fully pay for your MBA? It seems like they do, but not sure due to COVID impacting business. I am a new hire who is going to start soon. If they do pay for my MBA how many years do I have to stay for after?

Any supervisor can approve MBA reimbursement. Just ask your boss. Plenty of non-managers have it and use the skills daily.
The only MBAs Chevron pays for are for those deemed to be entering management. The rest of you? Back to work!
Didn’t do an MBA but doing an MSc funded by Chevron. Started by reading company policy and approaching my supervisor.
Yeah.. I don't even find anything regarding it also..
If you plan to leave Chevron and move into a higher paying industry (finance, consulting, tech), an MBA is worth it.
If you plan to stay in O&G, it will be an expensive sheet of paper. In other industries MBAs are valued and can result in large jumps in compensation and career growth.
It used to be CVX reimbursed 75% and the employee had no requirement to stay at chevron but I think the rules have changed.
So the ones who are saying they have got it on the company dime.. when was this and how did you go about asking for it?
If I am in the business side of the company, I assume I would have a higher chance of my MBA reimbursed? I start working with the company early next year so I am not sure when I should ask to get my MBA done by the company.. any ideas?
Not everyone will be subsidized by Chevron for obtaining an MBA. This is typically done for employees already in or undertaking a managerial career path. There are certain others on the technical career ladder who will be reimbursed, but don’t take anything for granted. Talk it over with your supervisor and be prepared to kiss @ss or become his butler for a year in exchange for the nod.
HR is not enforcing any MBA rules at the moment, that's for sure. I know several MBAs who graduated the last couple years (on the Chevron dime) and quit for better jobs. You don't have to sign anything when you start the MBA program. Same for the MIT plan.
Things have changed, new rules require you to be approved by two level up and it will cover course by course (not the entire program) as you you progress. You need to stay 3 years now.
The world is saturated with MBAs, basically what you're saying is that you're giving up on your current career in order to get that Business degree you should have gotten in the first place. Chevron will only pay for high p-t MBAs, those they assume will stick around to join the management clique.
Discuss with your supervisor once you are hired. Normally they pay all of it. You are free to quit any time.
Dont be another su---r with an MBA.
They will for some, and not for others. Mine was reimbursed to me. You need to check the latest policy at the source, not a layoff website. 🙄
