Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Consolidation and Reorg

They layoffs have not ended because there will be further consolidation (Fuels/Chemicals) and the whole BMR and TMTS efforts. This will result in rationalization and more off boarding to low cost centers.

Additionally US and DS assets will be further combined to create efficiencies (layoffs) such as technical groups and engineering. This has already started with Projects, Sourcing etc… and will continue into the next 3-5 years.

HR is actively evaluating groups and individuals. That is why employees are being asked to complete skills assessments and similar. They are throwing everybody into the pool and plucking out who they want to retain or move to India or Malaysia.

Clinton is to be closed. YL has to make it before her forced retirement. They don't care about you. Run for the doors.

I always knew that “Leadership level talent” at EM included outright sociopaths, but you needed to step in and prove it.

👀 awwww, how cute, look at the cute little cupcakes acting all smart and all knowing. Reality check, you are sniveling on a layoff website as though your opinion actually matters pretending to be Leadership level talent 🤗. This is just so pathetic it’s entertaining 🍿🍿🍿…

Don’t forget they have to shrink exploration as geos continue to be unproductive and too heavy.

Makes sense to roll UIS, UBD along with EMIT under Linda. It’s all ancillary anyways, and they can spin it as “techy”, modern, digital, buzzword, buzzword, bullsh!t.

Everyone is just waiting for that ahole Cousins to retire.

By the time we are done with the study, decades had flow by. Too slow to get any thing done. It is good for us, play the game and ride it out till retirement.

Clearly the F&L / Chem merge will cut some heads… U/S has more coming as does procurement and emit… but what is coming up with the bus. service groups (controllers, tax, treasurers)?

  1. they seem not to have taken much of a hit so far, and
  2. seems like a lot of their stuff could go to msp the same way emit is headed.

What am I missing?

"Consolidation and Reorg" = "Improve efficiency" = "Trimming the fat" = Reducing cost = Replace the "expensive" with "Cheap". When it comes to $$$, everyone is dispensable.

The Upstream is ripe for a good reorg. BD/UIS outside of Guyana Straebrock is pretty much useless and O&G assets are fairly mature except for about 3 op areas a few scattered JVs. Question is what to do with all of those advisors, managers and supervisors.

If they are working in the same professional matters, do the same, give direction to the new employees how to do it, but not teach them how to do it. At least your are going to have a backup that you are given some guidance to the employees.

@OP+1dOkaEdE Do you really think HR has skills, abilities, experiences, and most importantly freedom to do their job to "actively evaluate groups and individuals"? If you think yes ask directly to the HR VP TG. Both HR and Legal groups are just mindless slaves employed by the mgmt. to find ways to get their dirty work through with a touch of fabricated humanity and legality.
