I was at Centaur for many years. Have had my Intel badge less than a week. This whole thing seemed strange from my side as well. The vast majority of us took their new "job offer" because VIA wouldn't pay our banked PTO if we didn't - and I had a bunch. It's made me look at the industry and see how underpaid I was (and will be). At least there are RSUs now. It wouldn't surprise me if dozens of us bail in the next 6-12 months.

Just be thankful it was "only" $125 Million and Intel didn't run its usual "overpay and mismanage" playbook spent $1.25 Billion.
Shitel is in desperation mode since a long time ago. Can't attract any decent talent by itself, so it throws money at the problem in typical Shitel fashion.
That is the only way Intel can fill cubes with anything other than greedy D-rate Indians.
