What Job Search Engines and Tactics Work?

How about some useful information for a change? It’s no longer just the stress of wondering if I’m the next Chopped, our disconnected JPMC leadership team, RTO, every d@amn business system in the bank changing, or all the articles about Millennials quitting en masse. I’ve just had it in general.

For someone who has been loyal to this company for a decade plus, what job search engines work in terms of being found by recruiters and employers? Do employers proactively seek out candidates, or do they refer jobs out to recruiters?

I often get contacted by recruiters with foreign sounding names and companies for the same jobs that are rarely on point. I do have my info on LI, Indeed, Zip Recruiter and Glassdoor, deleted Monster and others, but have active job searching turned off and do not keep those sites current. What should I focus on?

What about local recruiters vs national? How do you find remote?

I will parrot that LinkedIn seems to be one of the most popular right now. My line of work is very competitive right now and I've been getting bombarded by linked in messages & friend requests for the last 2 years by hundreds of recruiting/job search agencies and also recruiters directly employed at other banks. They've also been cold calling my personal cell in some cases. They are like vampires desperate for the next drop of blood.

LinkedIn seems to be the most popular option right now.

Be aware that some contracting agencies will not work with you while employed at Wells due to conflict of interest. They do not want to be seen as pulling people away from Wells when Wells hires them to find people.

You will want to use a contractor with an understanding that you are targeting direct to hire.

Use domestics like robert half, kforce etc that are bound to US law in execution of thier duties and tax responsibilities and if you can, go consulting with places like boston consulting, etc. These are gatewys to corp work when you cant wait for the typical recruiting.

Don't look for recruiters to find you. They're overwhelmed by resumes. The most contact you'll receive are spam.

i use LinkedIn to proactively job search and have had good success with getting interviews and even a an offer I recently turned down. I think the key is that you need to be proactive and not rely on people finding you.
