Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It is always somebody elses fault

It is the government and department of justice, it is Wall Street, it is Covid, it is the employees. Stephenson was a cuck and Stankey is a Grade A Toxic A Ho-e. For years the SBC culture is rooted in toxicity, bully tactics, and incompetence buffered by lobbying. Stock Price says it all and if you are an employee you are a dope if you have held or buy this junk.

what do you expect from a company full of people who never admit they are wrong. it is full of george w bushes.

you have to admit there is a problem before you seek help. nobody at att that has any decision making never admits they made a mistake. it is a disease and an ugly one at that.

been to two places since I left and that is just not normal and is not how the rest of the world operates.

anybody thinking of working there please run run run far away.

Even when they pretend to be reforming and trying to right the ship they can’t help but step all over themselves. The number one problem with the entire organization right now is that they have spooked out or laid off the talent and what is left is the very garbage that is weighing down the company bunch of yes men and layers of incompetent nepotism. Look to your left or right and sure enough you know the type, brought into the company years ago as a favor to a relative to give the high school D student relative a job or daddy bringing in their d-mb seed to continue the stupid now a lifelong sand bag or worse a manager. What’s left is a cart full of rotting onions you peel and it’s layers after layer of useless. The minute the company wants to actually start culling the emails and phones calls begin to make sure their jobs are secure and they won’t be cut. It’s a never ending death spiral. Heck even that mo--n Stephenson was a product of nepotism hired in as a favor from his tech brother. What a joke, the company is going under because of a bunch of nepotism tribalism and hanging itself with fake numbers and data from spreadsheet after spreadsheet of bs numbers from their micromanagement programs.

You hear it from the rank and file too, I can't get ahead because of seniority. I can't get a higher pay rate because some guy won't retire. I can't move up because landlines are dying, etc. It's a corporation running on excuses and fumes and memories past. Opportunity left port a long time ago, and T-bag employees weren't aboard

It is the Board of Director's fault. They select who leads the company. It will probably take a large institutional investor like Vanguard to field an alternate slate of directors to be voted on at the annual meeting.

I could not agree with you more. Very to the point and insightful. I'll go so far as to say that that slow talking Texas dummy Whitacre should publicly apologize for putting RS in charge.

The truth is that RS, the two Johns, and Whitacre (Big Ed and his "help our friends and punish our enemies" business philosophy - as if that is a real workable tactic to success) all contributed to the total demise of one of the largest and most storied companies in the world while they reaped undeserved riches at the expense of both shareholders and employees alike. None of those jokers would have risked their own personal net worth to the extent that they risked "Other Peoples Money" on the dubious investments they promoted?

Where is Whitacre now in regards to commenting on the status of AT&T? When has the board (either current or past) ever commented? Just terrible self serving management.
