I gave notice because I have been doing work for several people for months now and I could no longer put up with such a pace of work.... After I gave notice, I thought I would finally be able to have some relief but no.... This company decided to squeeze every employee till the very end..... Now, after I gave notice, they loaded me with work more than ever! That seems like a great message to employees, to make extra effort to forget that they ever worked here and never regret leaving?

Dont give notice, it's not required...
People need to learn to push back from the beginning. The more you do the more they give you. No good deed goes unpunished. Just say no and you won’t be in the position of doing 3 people’s jobs.
When I got my 60 days notice, I did nothing more. When my manager said why, I said hey, you made it clear I am not needed anymore.
They could have assigned me every job in the state.
Didn't matter to me.
I'll do a good, steady job. Get all the OT I want, and go home after 8 or 10 or 12....my decision.
As a matter of fact, when they assigned me jobs late in the day I'd go home on time-job never got done unless I wanted some OT.
The less I do today, the more likely I'll be asked to work OT on the weekend.
If I want it.
Why do you care? Not your problem they run short staffed.

I’ve gotten the same treatment during surpluses several times. As soon as they announce my last surplus, management started micromanaging like crazy. We were getting numerous safety inspections every week, being forced to work mandatory OT and management was looking for any excuse to write you up on your way out just for the he-l of it. It’s not bad enough that people are having to figure how to adjust their lives with the prospect of being let got or having to move their families to keep their job, but management just had to stick the kn--e in deeper just to make it worse. Management at this company is pure evil.

just proves you made the right decision att is full of insecure mo--ns who have to get multiple degrees to make themselves feel smart and help keep their jobs. the culture at att is so vile - you will have ptsd after you leave and you see how a normal place of business operates.
My last company gave me only one thing to do when I gave my notice, they asked me if I would pass my work and any knowledge necessary on to the person who is taking it over. Also they were nice and asked me if I would document anything just in case I couldn't pass the information on directly. In my mind your job now is to do exactly what I've mentioned above, help to make the transition as painless on your co-workers as possible.
Tell them sure thing boss, then do bare min for 2 weeks.

Or did you just get more lazy after giving notice?
They can assign you all the work in the company - who cares?
Stay, smile, and make minimal efforts for 2 wks. If they're upset, invite them to fire you.
Focus on the light at the end of the tunnel! Hopefully they will realize backup coverage is critical at this point!. At a minimum, you should have been offered a retention bonus.
