It’s something I said at the time - what makes lifelong telco guys think they can run a media company?

Any average Joe off the street can say let's build the business bigger. Where Stankey fell apart is getting rid of existing creative/management team and who did he bring in? Jason Kilar.
This isn't rocket science, content development isn't building network capacity. More content faster means quality of direct to dvd garbage. Netflix and Prime invested heavily their own content production, but they licensed much more popular content created elsewhere and cost less than HBO Max.
Stankey talks big, but delivers underwhelming results. If you want to listen to him, good luck with that.
Stankey was right though. HBO wasn't making enough money to compete with Netflix and Prime. That's why a telco was able to purchase them.
Maybe they should have been more receptive to his directive, to make more content faster and bring in more money.
There is a reason they call them BELL HEADS.
Stanky is exhibit A.
And what makes you think lifelong co----e parties Bewkes knows about taking the next step for his old media empire that was a pimple in the landscape of big boys...
Jeff was a POS
It is because the megalomaniac Stink knows more about EVERYTHING and EVERYONE.
