Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Which company is better - DELL or Microsoft?

I am considering job offers from both companies. I am software engineer and I am thinking to choose DELL. They say it is better and less stressful to work in it..

Per the Zacks model, the combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat. But that’s not the case here.

Dell Technologies has an Earnings ESP of -2.44% and a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell).

Dell is run by ol' chum cliques and bro circles. It is a company where the wrong people surface on the top for the wrong reasons.. EMC was like that as well, but there the ethnic card was very important hand. At least DELL does not play with ethnic groups so badly as EMC.

Dell is marked as a strong sell for it’s stock.
“designs, develops, manufactures, markets, sells, and supports Information technology solutions, products, and services. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for its current year earnings has been revised 6.3% downward over the last 30 days.”

MSFT is 100 times better than Dell. There is no comparison.

My last manager was a spineless self serving worm. "Yes" to everything his boss wanted whether informed or not. In the US, the severance package was meh.

Your Dell managers will change often. You will lose your skills doing stuff not related to what you were hired for. Eventually you will be laid off with no experience and knowledge to get hired in the market

Dells managers are the best, they have zero experience and are easy to walk over and take advantage of.

Get a job at Dell and you'll never want to leave and if so they give you a sweet severance package.

From a previous posting:
“ I'm fortunate, the last 3 managers I have had have been awesome too.”….
Your direct manager is great until VP and Senior VP determine that employee cuts are being made, and these are the cuts being made based on age of the employees under them the salary and benefits of the employees ,and this is what the cuts will be with no input from your direct management.
Innovation the Dell way.

I've worked for EMC now Dell for 22 years based in EMEA. I guess it depends on the BU you work for and more importantly your manager. EMC were great to work for, Dell is great too but in different ways. I'm fortunate, the last 3 managers I have had have been awesome too.
