I wrote blue collar workers. They are being replaced, look at Amazon warehouses and other distribution centers. Look at driverless delivery trucks. Low-skill repetitive jobs are all candidates for robotization. Just to highlight the point that corporations are in it to make a profit, no matter the social costs. No, COVID didn't ki-l the flu. People going out in public while sick and not wearing masks and sneezing all over sh-t, or wiping their noses with their hands and then touching door knobs and sh-t spread the flu. Now, people aren't getting out as much. Many are wearing masks while in public, either because they want to or because businesses, local, state or federal governments are requiring it to enter businesses.
You can get the COVID vax or not, and get the flu shot or not, I don't care. But from now on, I will wear a mask outside during pollen season because it made my allergies so much less severe. I will wear a mask in businesses during cold and flu season from now on because I haven't had a cold or the flu in two winters now. I may wear a mask, or just ask people to keep out of my personal space in public just because. I like not getting sick every winter because people come to work sick or send their kids to school sick and I have to be around them in the office or my kids have to be around their kids in school and then they bring it back to my wife and I. No thanks. Call me anti-social if you want.
Unless we get COVID under control by whatever means, I can see our society adopting some of the concepts from Isaac Asimov's book _The Na--d Sun_ where the inhabitants of the planet Solaria no longer have "personal" contact with others and they "view" others via means of holograms and live in homes by themselves. The CDC openly admits that it fudged the COVID-19 death figures. The statistics have been made to look really scary by adding speculative guesses to the official database.
The CDC has instructed hospitals, medical examiners, coroners and physicians to collect and report COVID-19 data by significantly different standards than all other infectious diseases and causes of death.
These new and unnecessary guidelines were instituted by the CDC in private, and without open discussion among qualified professionals that are free from conflicts of interest.
These new and unnecessary guidelines were additionally instituted despite the existence of effective rules for data collection and reporting, successfully used by all hospitals, medical examiners, coroners, and physicians for more than 17 years. Had the CDC used its industry standard, Medical Examiners’ and Coroners’ Handbook on Death Registration and Fetal Death Reporting Revision 2003, as it has for all other causes of death for the last 17 years, the COVID-19 fatality count would be approximately 90.2% lower than it currently is.
CDC 2020 guidelines stated: "In cases where a definite diagnosis of COVID cannot be made but is suspected or likely (e.g. the circumstances are compelling with a reasonable degree of certainty) it is acceptable to report COVID-19 on a death certificate as 'probable' or 'presumed.'"
Under CDC guidelines, a patient who died after being hit by a bus and tested positive for coronavirus would be listed as having presumed to have died from the virus regardless of whatever damage was caused by the bus. We ALL know how they have MANIPULATED death count numbers!!

The OSHA mandate has nothing to do with Cisco requiring a COVID vaccination. That is being driven by an executive order which is still in effect and to my knowledge has been challenged. I got the vaccine 10 days back because of this(I haven't had any issues). While I would like to see the EO tossed out as well that doesn't appear likely.
I am also not sure about the comment around Cisco signing any paperwork around the vaccine. If the vaccine is harmful that isn't on Cisco.
Isn’t this an OHSA mandate? Doesn’t it mean that there will be no companies that can “opt out” unless it’s smaller than 100 employees? Oh, and Cisco will cop an $14,000 fine for every non-compliant employee. Of course, you could also choose to get tested once per week.

Look outside the US to get a glimpse of what might be coming your way. In France, healthcare workers that have repeatedly refused to get vaxxed have been laid off. Done deal, out. The system hasn't collapsed. Sure, it puts extra strain on those remaining. Look at Austria: lockdown for the unvaxxed and mandatory vaccination in effect as of today. I was already let go from Cisco because I will not get the vaccine. The mandate is now temporary suspended, I doubt Cisco will follow that lead.
