Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

More people leaving

We’re losing more people with tenure and experience and upper management isn’t doing anything to keep these people or take off some of the stress and added workload causing them to leave. This is getting out of control now

Been here 15 years, hoping for a phone call on a new job. 10k pay cut but BNYM is a disaster and cannot stay any longer.
Few small adjustments @ home and actual raises over the next few years … I’ll be fine .

Not unfortunate for me. Speak for yourself only.

I see plenty of remote IT jobs on indeed.com that pay better than what I was making in Syracuse.

Which companies are offering better benefits, pay and remote options? I’m seriously considering leaving and haven’t had to do a resume in 15 yrs. . I’ve been way out of the game for so long with being here ,but the amount of work being dumped on me with no help in site and more peers leaving is unbearable and I can’t deal with the stress anymore. I’m in Oriskany NY and haven’t seen any companies worth taking a big cut for

Unfortunately the people that are most likely to leave are the ones with the most knowledge or the best skills. Not the ones that need to be kicked out the door.

There is no such thing as tenure in this organization and managers basing decisions on this should be reported to HR. This is a real issue in the organization.

I'll most likely be one of them. "Celebrated" my 40th anniversary yesterday and all I got was a robo email that looked like spam from some unknown website domain. Hey...you get an extra personal day to use at your manager's discretion. Later got a group email from my manager promoting transgender awareness.

Gee thanks.....maybe acknowledge the old fat white dude that spent most of his life helping build this company......

I know someone in Oriskany who left to be a school bus driver for less than 1/3 the pay. That says an awful lot about the working conditions at bk.

More people will leave when the RTO plans are official, especially if they mandate everyone in the office Tuesday thru Thursday. People who can, will leave. Next major wave will be the first week in March, after the meager bonus is paid. I feel bad for the ones left. They will be expected to carry the load, even if they are overworked now.

I gave my notice and have no regrets. Nobody said "Sorry you're leaving." or "What can we do to change your mind?". Doesn't matter since the dictator has managers under his thumb. They didn't like me because I am not afraid to speak my mind. Of course, I accepted a job offer and already going through the onboarding process. I am leaving to work remotely FOREVER!

Watch even more leave when we RTO and people get offers from companies offering remote work.

In Corporate America , New hires are overrated and existing employees are underrated but this bank never appreciates anyone bringing new ideas to the table be it a new hire they have to do the same mundane job this bank has to offer.

And on top of that they are making it so difficult to hire replacements. with inflation and people wanting higher pay bny doesnt want to pay more than what was being paid to the leaver. hence programs suffer
