Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Doomed

Working in information security its clear that INTEL is doomed. Agile adoption is not making us agile, we are bogged down with ceremonial activities dead weight engineers who refuse to share experience and information, they wait to the final hour to bring up critical tasks likely purposeful. Engineers gone for hours on end each day, always away in teams and non-responsive emails or in meetings. No accountability in sight for anyone today, no clearly defined path to grow myself to the next level despite initiating discussions with my manager consistently, no path to my success and what i need to do to achieve it is disheartening.

@1hte but who will disable the usb ports on the chip designer's laptops and count their keystrokes? Who will answer the phones when the ERM software crashes the shell?

@OP: Your co-workers could be working on different systems, so their Teams could show away status. Do you know you can set your Teams status as "appear away" or "appear offline" even though you are actually working, and do not want to be interrupted?

Information security is not essential to Intel.
It’s fabs and chip designs to fill those fabs.

All else is peripheral and can get outsourced if needed.

@1yxt - Intel is not hiring better engineers, it is hiring cheaper engineers, who also happen to be third-world nepotists who will hire their even less qualified wives, cousins, friends and neighbors. C players hire D players who hire F players.

Can't blame these Engineers for not sharing their ideas so that they can be replaced by someone overseas. That seems to be the career path these days for Engineers who work for large companies.

The path to success is to refresh your resume and gtfo. You can do it and it’s worth the effort.
