Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

What’s Nike going to do about BS vaccine accommodation requests?

How does nike even prove a “real” religious or medical request? Obviously there are going to be some bs requests from people that put their right to not take the vaccine over our right to have a safe(r) work environment….

“100% safe”

“Fully vaccinated”

“Pandemic of the unvaccinated”

Those aren’t statements made from believing in science, those are statements of propoganda.

Is there reliable science and data that proves the vaccine has been helpful for a group of people? Yep.

Is there reliable science and data emerging that shows the vaccine has caused injury to a group of people? Yep.

Is there reliable science and data that shows the vaccinated can contract and transmit covid? Yep.

Is there reliable science and data that shows the vaccine has limited the symptoms of covid once contracted? Yep.

Believing in one version of “science” while denying the existence of others that are inconvenient to your beliefs doesn’t make the truth disappear.

It makes you ignorant.

You can acknowledge there’s a place for medicine and at the same time, be honest about what medicine does and doesn’t do.

I’m anti totalitarian government making untrue claims under the guise of offering uncompromised protection.

Stand up for what you believe in, even if you’re standing alone. Uh huh.

Sooo...DE&I is all well and good so long as it’s about gender or race, but not really my body my choice. What a bunch of hateful hypocrites you all are.

"Having an entire team out sick with a cold is impactful to business." yet there are no mandates to ensure employees don't get colds....your argument is weak.

Studies also show that countries with the highest vaccination rates have the most Covid cases, if the shots work why are cases going up? And studies show that it’s completely safe to fly packed in an airplane for hours with circulated air, you’re also safe from covid once you sit down to eat at a restaurant, this was the case before the vaccines were made available, so it’s weird that there are “studies” showing that close proximity increases the risk and rate of infection. Studies also show that the person funding the study gets the answers they want.

Companies make deals with the government and don’t always take actions that are in the best interest of the employees. There are currently no long term studies supporting the safety of the vax as these shots are less than a year old, but if you do some research preferably peer reviewed studies that aren’t funded by Pfizer you’ll find that there has been an increase in still born births, blood clotting, heart attacks and heart issues.

Asking someone to lift a 25lb box vs getting an injection can’t even be compared, you can’t undo the shot.

Basic logic??? Basic logic includes questioning authority and critical thinking skills. It’s more comfortable and easy to trust everyone, but being an adult means you have to look out for your own best interests. And you’re suggesting that there should be a one size fits all medical treatment, ignoring bodily autonomy, privacy and freedom of choice. We were never required to get vaccinated for anything else, why for a virus with an over 99.9% survival rate, why not for the flu?

If someone is ill or comes to work all the time sick, they should be fired, but to insist healthy people get a shot with no long term studies to back up the safety is irresponsible, discriminatory, psychotic and at what point does it end, first it’s the Covid shot, next it will be a birth control shot to save the planet?

If you keep complying with these arbitrary rules you will have no more freedom to choose anything.

And it’s not worse than a cold unless you are over 80 and obese.

Why is this a pro or anti vax issue and not just a business issue? I'm going to bring it down to the very basics.

Studies show being vaccinated reduces the contract rate of the virus.

Studies show working in close promity increases the risk and rate of infection.

Companies follow studies and listen to actuaries. They might as well be a key performance indicator. Studies say C, response is Y. This isn't a debate of politics. It's basic logic.

All of these studies and actuaries are pointing to - the more vaccinated employers you have, the lower chance of a disruption of work, reduced medical costs, reduced employee sick time, reduced likelihood of an outbreak and shut down of your facilities.

They can demand whatever they want in their job requirements. Ability to move boxes of 25lbs. Ability to be in person. Certain licenses required to perform duty. Minimum health requirements for a job duty. And yes vaccination requirements. It's just their legal right to ask for it and our legal right to refuse it.

The job market is hot, go get another one somewhere else that doesn't require a vaccination.

Just note that that would be a sign they're making some really bad business decisions and I wouldn't want to work there due to future job security.

No matter how you slice it, survival rate or not. Having an entire team out sick with a cold is impactful to business. We can all agree this is worse than a cold.

This is in response to a comment which has been censored by thelayoff. So I’m sure this will be censored as well since it doesn’t fit the pro-vaccine narrative that they want pushed on everyone.

Do I trust the Government, Uh NO. No one should trust our Government regardless of whether we have D’s or R’s in office, both parties are corrupt and have been bought and paid for by large corporations, big pharma, China, etc. Pfizer is the 6th most popular stock owned by Congress, Pfizer also has 22 lobbying FIRMS in DC. Your dependency on vaccines to stay “healthy” makes our Government a lot of money. And regardless of whether or not VAERS is showing 18,583 deaths is accurate, we don’t know how these shots will effect fertility or if they cause cancer, we won’t know that for years. The vax manufacturers are free from liability they can’t be sued for any injuries or deaths, maybe Nike can be held accountable for forcing you to get the shot in order to keep your job, I don’t know. I do know that it’s a felony and is considered domestic terrorism for corporations to coerce the public into taking actions they wouldn’t otherwise take.

Guess what? Either way, Nike currently has a mandate. So, if you don't like it, it's time for you to continue to make personal choices and move along if you are unvaccinated. THAT is a choice you are making. Own that choice for your body and family too.

@1vtt

Not sure where you are getting 18,000 deaths.

from the cdc website: “More than 442 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through November 15, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 9,810 reports of death (0.0022%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine.”

We all know VAERS data is self reported so it may have some false data and likely has been inundated with anti vaxxers as well.

I’m in the 20-49 age group, I’ll take my chance of dying from the vaccine (.0022%) over my chance of dying from covid (.12%) ANY DAY.

18,000 deaths in the US only and this is a best case scenario number. The Swine Flu vax was halted after 3 deaths. According to the CDC if you are 20-49 your survival rate is 99.98%, if you’re 50-69 your survival rate is 99.5%. It’s estimated that over 100 million people in the US have natural immunity…. Simply put most people do not need this shot. And there is no such thing as a one size fits all medical treatment.

@1ksp

Nearly 8 Billion doses of the vaccine have been administered around the world to date. Assuming 2 doses per person, that's 4 billion people vaccinated. I guarantee you if 4 billion people caught COVID way more than 18k would be dead.

Never in history have the people forcing others into compliance been the good guys. If these shots worked why are we already up to booster 3? VAERS shows over 18,000 people have died from the government owned vaccinations - where there is risk there should be a choice.

There is proof the vaccine is better than not doing anything in fighting COVID. I hate the mandates but I also don't see why a logical person would not take the shot. Just to prove you have choice?

@rej, I am a Muslim employee and I am vaccinated and so is my entire Muslim family. What is THAT exception are you speak of is all about?

All you id--ts saying this is experimental makes you sound insanely stupid. The only religious exemption is for the Muslim religion. The Pope was vaccinated and the Vatican employees had to be vaccinated. BS “religious” exception. Don’t take the vaccine so when you’re sick you shouldn’t be able to get medical help. Id--ts

OP,

Have fun with your experimental shot and lack of transparency. FDA classified the data for 55 years lol.

Exercising my right to decide on medical decisions is just as important as your right to decide. I choose not to take an experimental substance multiple times with no proof of benefit.
