Pat's big idea, like with vmware, was to cut costs and do nothing else.
It's some big-brain choices to continue to want to build and work within China that he's pulling out -- and at the same time attempting to snuggle up to the USG and claim 'national security, give us money.'

I'll say this, Pat has gumption.

Relying on superior business model, strategy and execution is a bad strategy. To try and compete with inferior technology, scale and economic fundamentals is plain stupdity
