In the 90s Texaco hired a slew of marginal MBAs to fill quotas after the 1996 jelly Bean fiasco. Did any of them amount to anything? Most I know quit after slow career progress.

Lol. The good ole’ dummies got caught red handed, bragging on tape about how they discriminate against black employees. They aren’t sending their best and their brightest!
There are a few stragglers still around but they have been shuffled off to marginal jobs in Asia and Latin America.
That’s correct, OP. Since the 1990’s most of the marginal MBAs quit after slow career progress or were let go. That period in Texaco’s history was known as ‘throwing out the trash’. Good riddance.
Oh, and don't forget, @tld, Texaco's lawyers in the 80's and 90's lost every significant case they faced.
Texaco was well known for not being able to identify quality management. That's one of many reasons why they went down in flames.
You can google it.
What was the Jelly Bean fiasco?
The few that I knew washed out after about ten years.
