Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Why so much animosity towards SSSs?

I am indifferent, and I've become even more indifferent ever since I started sending more applications than ever.

Pr--ck ronin / D--k bonin sounds like the same loser troll in another thread. Talks cr-p without anything to back it up.

If you are busting your a-s in any position under wfm\amazon you are a fool do the bare minimum. They are at the point now where pre assement candidates that are flagged as red are considered acceptable.

In my experience SSS tm's are either superstars or shitters... no in-between. Remember the job description is literally just print signs and tags and GIVE them to departments, audit 2000 items per week and weights/measures + scale accountability. Some SSS bust their a-s and help all the teams, keep the store green in marketing compliance (which directly ties into the STL's bonus so if you fu-k up be prepared for HE-L), hang the price changes, help with shortwalks, have good relationships with all the team leaders, A/STL's and
Regional and some just like making the store run better and more efficiently. Others just sit at the computer all day texting and watching youtube not even bothering to print the tags and give them to their depts. Its a job where doing the bare minimum is acceptable (you can't get fired for doing so) and makes the job look easy AF. So that breeds jealousy from team members breaking their backs in the dairy cooler or getting screamed at by customers at the CS desk. I'm a sss and honestly no one besides the other SSS knows what the job is supposed to do. I like to call it shift leader without the pay. Its a dead end job so seriously do not be jealous we get paid sh-t as well.

Anybody could be on the cutting block why SSS is such a target is beyond me. It's a job to help teams not against them.

Like the others on here, they say this as fact and when called out to lay it out, provide nothing... The guy is probably the my pillow guy.

@5jgl+1dZ9h13m:
You say this like it is fact.
Is this your “prediction”, or do you know this to be fact?

Teams are not doing the job so that's the reason why SSS are needed. If you all are so against the SSS role maybe you should do a better job on your teams so they are no longer needed? The SSS is there to assist you get your heads out of your as--s and take any assistance you are given.

Someone from regional can cover this at store level. That way they will also get experience actually working in a store...if they can get out of their seat that is

If SSS is your worry clearly you don't have your priorities straight. The teams don't take pricing seriously or tares for that matter both are simple to maintain but the teams seem to struggle. If that's the case who is the real problem at store level?

The prizes are not right in the customers face. We can safe money by reducing labor here. Pricing. Is something that fixes itself. Its elementary.

Store Scanning Specialist (SSS), Formerly Store Systems Integrator (SSI), although remote area outside of STSS (tech team) , the stores will still have the SSI.

I agree with that.the SSS are usually the ones blamed unjustly.I don't see the same level of bashing for coordinators or the people truly responsible for the mess.

the SSS guys are not to blame for all the INF cr-p that goes on daily in the stores....or the lack of bodies to hump product..nor are they responsible for the bad allocations of product that spoil or cant be sold once a sale price is removed.....so much blame needs to be directed at the out of touch regional buyers and coordinators who seem to lack accountability for their constant blunders...the SSS guys are soo after the fact of the root causes for our problems at the store and point of purchase..

Because there's people out there think the position is pointless, because they don't know what all goes into it, even the store support TLs and coordinators don't fully understand the position. This position used to be an admin team position and for some reason was thrown on the front end. The job holds a lot of accountability..
