Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

This is more of a you issue

Stop blaming the bank for being miserable at work. You're an adult perfectly capable of making his or her own decisions. If you can't handle working here for whatever reason, find another job and move on. There's no shame in taking a pay cut if it'll make your life better. Just do something to help yourself.

We aren’t getting a pay cut don’t be id--ts and it has nothing to do with the Bank. The entire private sector is being hammered by inflation and mismanagement of both the pandemic and energy policy by the people that we supposedly “voted” in.

You want to strike out at the bank because Uncle Sam hurt you? They hurt the corporations too. Learn from this, wake up and vote better.

Who are these people that think they are getting a raise at BNYM? Wake up! The plan for 2022 raises are planned at zero.

Technically, you are getting a pay cut. By staying. Have you seen inflation rates? Have you seen BNYM’s 1-3% yearly increases to those with ‘merit’?

Most people are miserable because they are overworked and underpaid. The people with actual knowledge and skills aren't valued. HR and managers think they can replace people leaving with C average students from party schools who barely know how to write coherent emails or do basic math. Sprinkle in some offshoring to India and a pinch of doing the needful and the recipe for hating your life is almost complete.

Looking forward to my 1% pay rise this year. Remind me what's the current inflation rate?

Only losers cut and run. This is MY company and I will do what it takes to try to make it better. That includes calling out management on stupid decisions and immoral treatment of me and my co-workers.

The bank has definitely gone down hill in the last 15 years I’ve been here. Their priorities are messed up and they don’t give a cr-p about their employees. Now they want to give extra money to those who work in office around the holidays while the rest of us a working from home around the holidays once again get nothing extra for ki----g our selves . So sick of this place and sorry but it is the bank destroying the morale

This post was probably by some balding overweight middle age guy who lives in his mother’s basement and never had a functional relationship or any responsibility in his life.

I’m by nature a miserable person. You’re right, I’m definitely a loser. I shouldn’t be on a winning team like bnym. I don’t deserve such a good place to work. I think I’ll go back to flipping burgers.
