Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Sad but true

Take of the tape…

The original Fiserv businesses are not stellar performers (people are good).
The original First Data businesses are performing very well.
Maybe Jeff knew what he was doing after all.

@ffs+1daMW6M5 not trying to start a fight - I worked for both companies before the merger but I wanted to clarify something you said. The core card application that Fiserv used processed is VisionPLUS and it was developed and maintained/enhanced in several releases annually by FIRSTDATA. Fiserv licensed a FirstData product and provided customized versions that they serviced to clients. There may have been some outsourcing of the actual coding that was designed and approved by FD Solution Architects but it is not a true statement that other companies designed it.

OFD was desperate to be bought by OFS. The Fiserv stock performed really well over the last ten years. Now, it’s a stale joke with Frank running it into the ground. You OFD guys are a joke. No one is buying the “we’re better than you” mantra. The results speak volumes. You’re ruining a good company.

Post here is another illustration of the stupid OFD leadership mentality. Here are the facts OFS Card Services also posted the highest margins prior to the shotg-n wedding no surprise that the combined division is best in class. Payments are a commodity; even the great Clover is nothing special. Much of the Debit and Credit processing software was written dedicates ago by outside companies while it is maintained within Fiserv it is well paid for, the systems bolted on are either acquired (OnDot the latest example) or under license (dispute expert). What makes sales go Fiserv uses its relationship and leverage with Fiserv software clients (Account Processing) to ink payment deals, OFD was desperate to have (you know we were). Building real innovate banking software takes investment not to be found here. The real owners of the company are the investment banks FB is just executing the plan. FB is neither a leader nor an innovator just following the directive same one he used at FD.

Frank is a better businessman because he took fiserv to the cleaners. Now he runs the show and will make about a billion. Employees will be treated as cattle

It's both sad and hilarious watching Frank and Guy riding on Yabuki's coattails in a frantic attempt at running a company like Fiserv. While it is entertaining, it is depressing watching such a good firm go right into the dumpster.

Original fiserv stock steadily climbed and split a few times. Since acquiring first data, fiserv stock has fallen.

Wait - if FD business is performing better than Fiserv's, why is it that Fiserv acquired FD where FD was saddled with $billions in debt?
