Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

A company that listens to its employees

My uncle worked at Vanguard most of his life. He always had only the best to say about the company, even after he retired. Then this week he found out they were cutting his retiree medical account - a move that would have cost him a lot of money. Not to mention that the announcement came out of nowhere. To say he felt betrayed would be an understatement. So color me shocked when he called me to say that the accounts were being reinstated - within a day of the decision to terminate them. Employees complained, the company listened. Can you imagine that? Can you imagine Fidelity doing something like that? Maybe once upon a time, but definitely not today.

Such a bunch of baby’s….there couldn’t be a more generous company. Stop complaining or leave.

Last I heard, @2klm+1dbAcsfg, laws were being written by lobbying and private interest groups, and given to their favorite Congress Critters who don't read them and pass them nearly word-for-word.

LOL, you must not have been around long enough to have Fido take away the pension that was promised. We should have all gone on strike when that happened.

lawyers. it takes good lawyers and a concerted effort for what you describe. "the accounts were being reinstated". Remember, the law is written by the people we vote for. If it wasn't for laws to protect workers, unions, etc, the working class would be sunk.
