SA cost cutting continues. Aside from many SA positions not being backfilled, there is more emphasis on using C2E and Agile TSA to reduce the number of SAs. The SA leadership is moving forward with more SA cuts. This will take on various forms such as attrition / not back filling reqs to performance based cuts. The reason for the cuts is simply there is less products that can be sold. The SE / SA Opex is out of control. The cost per SA is extremely high and it is unsustainable. The cuts so far have not achieved a reasonable Opex number so further efficiencies are needed. This is how EK and the SEDs are going to justify C2E and Agile TSA to everyone to include the savings it can provide by reducing cost per SA.
Some questions you should be asking your engineering leadership.
Why has Cisco stopped believing in technical relationships with customers.
Is it true that Engineering needs to reduce cost per SA / SE.
Why is there a lack of transparency and an unwillingness to answer the tough questions by engineering leadership.
Why are our competitors paying more and willing to invest in their pre-sales engineers and Cisco is taking more away.
Why are all the efficiencies (cutting SAs) happening at the IC level and not at management/ leadership levels.
