The people who wanted a raise to $15 an hour now say it isn't enough money ....while we wait for more cutbacks on job benefits and layoff news from AT&T .

Half those people working fast food would normally be working at factories making furniture, socks, and shirts making a pretty good working class income if all the factories had not been sent overseas. Haven’t heard the term “working class” in a long time, right? It’s gone. Now they want us to subsidize what made the rich super-rich by having to pay $10 for a burger!
Eat beans and fresh veggies at home. Nobody needs cell phone, internet or cable tv.
Take public transportation, shop at goodwill. Don't smoke, drink or take vacations.

Their strategy is crystal clear to those who think.
If you refuse to get/keep a job when there are plenty of jobs available then you are exposed as a worthless person that just wants welfare and handouts and to live off of the money that is taken from the earnings of others.
However, if you raise the minimum wage high enough so that employers must not only raise the prices of their products/services but also decrease the number of employees they have then you can greatly reduce the amount of available jobs, possibly to ZERO, and the worthless get to pretend their lack of employment is because of other factors than just because they are too worthless to get and keep a job.
It's the basic strategy of the welfare b-ms.
They all have low expectations. If I plan on demanding free handouts, I want it all. At least a million a year, free home of my choice, 2 new vehicles that I pick out and drive off the lot, the ability to walk into any business and any item I pick up is billed directly To the fed. Let the millennials pick up the tax tab the rest of their life.
You do realize that $15 an hour is just barely over the poverty income level, right? The average wage in the USA is $30 an hour or roughly $63K a year before taxes. Majority of the wages go toward housing and food. In my little town of 13,000 people the rents are all above $1K a month. Buying a house will cost you $300K and up and those are the cheap ones. Does living within your means entail living out of your car?
There are other expenses that most people don't think about like health and car insurance which can both cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars a month.
$15 an hour...........what a joke.
IF you adjust the current $7.25/hr. for inflation and adjusting factors it would be well over $20.
These are entry level jobs. They were not intended for people raising a household. They are for teenagers and people that want an extra gig to make ends meet.
I've lived on less. Just have to adjust your budget and live within your means.
