I know Rex was CL 30 by 30. Those days a long gone. Has anyone made CL 27/28 by 30?. Seems like CL 26 by 30 is very common.

CL25 at 32yo, told I was due for CL26 at 35yo, started out CL22 at 25yo - I'm a mere mortal.
I was CL 32 by age 23. Not a big deal. It didn’t alleviate my pain of watching disgusting coworkers vying for fake performance assessments, making up nonsense reasons to travel internationally, showing fake leadership skills. I am god and I will never work for this company.

I can share my career growth as someone In support services (left a few months back)
Started 10 years ago out of school as a CL 24 making $110k.
Got promoted to a CL 25 about 3 years later… believe I was making between $120k and $140k over the next few years. At 26 I was making around $160k with another 160 shares of stock. At 27 I was making around $180k with another 200 shares of stock.
Wasn’t worth it — happier on the other side

hired in as exp hire above 28... supervisor No.1 said I could reach for VP... Sup No.2 said I was going to be promo'd but apparently forgot to hit the "get-in" button (their new boss stopped them promo'ing anyone)... current sup told I am a dead man walking (got to love the honesty)... life is full of ups and downs... nothing you do actually matters so who give a flying f anyway?

Depends on the group. We have attorneys and tax professionals that hire into those CL levels directly out of school.
Gotta simply ask yourself:
Would you be willing to do what Rex had to do?
And kept on doing?

OP was probably told they have “executive potential”, maybe even a CL34. By the time they learn the truth about EP vs. reality, many years will have been spent and sacrifices made for the company with less than expected to show for it

Best way to succeed is hire at 22 with BS otherwise you will be too old to “get the required experiences” through moves every 18 months.
And this is why if you are an experienced hire you should realize you are better off somewhere else.
The youngest CL30 currently out there is 34
