Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

What happened to "See something/say something"?

The new female Tech leaders are not reflecting Nike Values and are being extreme bullies and getting away with it. Why hasn't anyone reported it? It's not just (EW/HJ), there's more examples during this restructure to include se-ual harassment AGAIN. Why isn't anyone reporting? It's part of your job to report it. EW is the one I'm hearing about the most. This is how our culture is destroyed; when we are afraid to stand up and state the truth. Report it or you are part of the problem.

You know you're doing something wrong when you can't openly talk about it.

I believe HJ refers to the new CF&C Tech VP.

I know who EW is but HJ? Who is HJ?

All these people saying "report it!" have never reported anything to HR, ER or the hotline at Nike. If it's provable the person ends up maybe transferred to another geo (only to come back 5 years later and harass again). If it's not provable (we're talking literal video or emails), no matter how many people report it nothing happens. And retaliation being unacceptable is a joke. The retaliator says there's some made up reason for the behavior and HR drops it - they have NO desire to ask more questions and find out the truth.

RL’s behavior is modeled by the leaders he has brought in and bullied. The abused have become the abuser. Eventually the truth will on RL and his sexist and bullying behaviors will become public, and AC will happily throw him under the bus.

Unfortunately this is happening broadly across leadership roles at Nike. There are still a few really great leaders that I respect, but I have encountered too many that rely on ego, bullying & intimidation. For some reason, they are the ones that get promoted to lead more. I and others around me are burnt out and looking to make a change.

I think we’re all mistaking RL’s acceptable global tech leader behavior as bullying. This is the new norm, and we need to get used to it. And, HJ and EW (and others) are bullies and asserting creepy dominance as a way to mask incompetence. If anything, they learned it from DH, our equally incompetent HR leader; we can thank her for this failed reorg.

What are they doing? Things aren’t much better in other departments within GOT… GOAL has been especially bad for the past 2 years or so, I thought it would be better than DSM (where I was before) but nope GOAL is definitely worse… sr directors are all fighting to prove their value and stepping all over each other, no one communicates, and projects get pushed for the sake of doing something not because they’ll actually improve anything - strange behavior

The damned if you do damned if you don’t BS is unacceptable. Do the right thing. Anonymously if you must via via via to protect yourself if you must. But do the right thing.

As a former VP, you need to report it. Ramification is retaliation and a violation.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't when it comes to witnessing that kind of behavior. If you speak up you may face career harming ramifications. If you don't speak up then you're complicit. Most people will just look the other way and play d-mb.
