I was told that they stopped laying folks off with 'engineer' in their title for the time being which may explain things.
Tech has been impacted a LOT so far this year but it has been 'more quiet' since July. If I understand this thread, there may be an IAM (Identify and Access Management) people impacted soon. My experience with them has been MANY contractors in that area over the past few years. New automation tools are likely driving less manual work to do in IAM, thus the decrease in staffing. I guess we will see?

Had a call with my mgr last week, my dept in IAM is losing 20% of it's staff next Thursday. Don't believe me? Wait until the 21st. And who knows with me posting this specific info, I could be next.
I heard tech is not effective. Poor leadership and too much praise of the agile and automation gods. Just like Chase folks that failed at this before.

Admittedly I used to hate the comment, but now it's just hilarious since it's so innocuous and makes people flip out. How many people went apeshit complaining about this forum being useless lately?
