Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Vaccine exemption

Somebody asked this already, but it was removed (I'm guessing the insults didn't help). Do you know of anybody who got approved for an exemption and if you do, how did they do it? Was it a complicated process? Any info would be helpful at this point.

And please, only answer if you know something. I would appreciate getting some answers instead of seeing this disappear as well. Thanks.

Just leave the highly toxic and narcissistic Nike environment. Guarantee you won’t regret it. Mandate is not law—look it up.

So… is it better to fired or resign if you do not intend to provide your private medical information to the tee shirt and shoe manufacturer?

The science has proven the vaccine to cause more issues. You are correctly listening to VAERS aka science if you agree with that statement. Only mainstream media will tell you otherwise.

Pushing the vaccine is all they care about because it makes the rich people richer.

I wrote more than two weeks ago. No response or follow up yet. Perhaps this upcoming all hands meeting will be a backtrack on the insanity.

I don’t think it will be that big of an issue. People have a tendency to assume worst case scenarios and most often that assumption is incorrect.

The vast, overwhelming majority of WHQ employees are already vaccinated. Of the remainder a few might have a legitimate medical reason and that will be easily resolved with a doctor’s letter. There will be fewer still who claim a religious exemption and I imagine that will need to be pretty well documented as something those people didn’t just dream up yesterday.

Of the very small number who just refuse to be vaccinated and have no legit reason for it, well, adios I guess. Who needs a steady income and health insurance anyway??

Stupidity should come with consequences. So for once I actually agree with Nike. No vaccine without a good reason, no job. It’s not complicated and no, Nike should not pander to peoples’ conspiracy theories and scientific illiteracy.

One thing that doesn’t make sense is the exemption for retail and warehouse employees. Seems like those employees would be at higher risk than most others. I have a good idea why Nike is exempting those employees but that idea isn’t very politically correct or polite. Nike probably assumes those employees are on balance lesser educated and less able to be reasoned with. Easier to just leave them alone than fight it. If that isn’t it then I’d love to hear a rational reason from Nike as to why those employees are being exempted. “Do the right thing” and all that.

Fill out the Accommodation forms and let us know how it goes. Just please be a sincere person and not someone trying to scam the system. Scamming messes it up for people who genuinely need the exemption.

@mdl

Yes it does.
Q: What’s the visitor policy for our offices?
A: Starting January 10, 2022, we will require all visitors – including family members of employees – to register their attendance and provide proof of vaccination to gain access to our U.S. offices. A visitor is any person who prior to arrival anticipates spending 15 or more minutes in a U.S. office, including use of any amenities (e.g., cafeteria). Any employee who is determined to have brought a visitor to a U.S. office and not registered their attendance may be subject to corrective action, up to and including termination of employment.

Does this also apply to vendors coming on campus for meetings?

If they’re going to let retail, AirMI and distribution centers come in without the vax they will need to approve these accommodations or things will get a bit ugly.

@OP
I would also like to know if anyone got approved but don't know of anyone yet. However, this is from the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (U.S. only) FAQ that can be found on Zero. Hope that helps and good luck.

'Q: What if I don't want to get vaccinated?
A: If you cannot get vaccinated because of a disability or sincerely held religious belief, practice, or observance, please refer to the Accommodation Requests section in the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for information.

Without an accommodation, you must be fully vaccinated before accessing or returning to one of our U.S. offices. If you do not want to be vaccinated, you will not be able to physically access or enter any of our offices. Your inability to comply with this policy, access the workplace, attend required meetings, and perform your job will result in termination.

Q: Can I just get tested regularly?
A: Our policy states that employees must be fully vaccinated prior to accessing designated NIKE offices. Employees who cannot get vaccinated because of a disability or a sincerely held religious belief, practice or observance may be exempt from the policy's requirement and provided a reasonable accommodation, including regular COVID-19 testing. Employees not eligible for an accommodation will not be permitted to be tested regularly in place of a vaccination.'

I didn’t see an option for negative tests in the communications from Nike. I would imagine if approved this is what they would request. I don’t think they would accept requests if they didn’t plan to approve them, who are HR employees at a shoe company to say if you are truly refusing because of your religious beliefs or not?

You have the option yo just show negative covid tests on a regular basis if you refuse to get vaccinated. This holds even if one were able to jam an exemption through.
