Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

A smaller company that does not support mandates

Someone here said that it is easy to find a job in a company that those who do not want to be vaccinated could go to. My friend tried to find a job in one such company and yes, it is possible, but he failed to find an equivalent position and pay. What are your experiences like?

I just took a job at a small company. It is at a slight pay cut, but I'll easily be able to maintain my current lifestyle. My new employer's commitment to our privacy is priceless to me.

At the beginning of the year, I had 3 small to mid size companies in a bidding war for my services. At the end of it all, Verizon was getting quite the bargain. As soon as the mandates for federal contractors were announced, the company that won the bidding war dropped its government contracts.

You aren't going to find Verizon level of pay and benefits, especially at a smaller company. But that's life. Even Burger King is paying seventeen an hour on Atlanta now.

A little over a year ago I left VZ to go to a company with less than 50 employees. I started at about 95% of my VZ salary with similar benefits. However, we only work 10 hours Monday through Thursday. Also, I negotiated an additional two weeks paid vacation per year. At my one year review, after proving my worth, I negotiated a raise that brings me to slightly more than I'd be making at VZ.
My employer really doesn't care one way or another about vax or mask mandates. It's a distraction to him. Each person's healthcare is his/her own private business.
I feel that I'm better off for making the move.
