Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Definitely Tone Deaf and Most Definitely Feeling of Superiority and Ownership of All

After some recent incidents, posts, and exposure of some of the XOMs best and their thoughts about other people internally and externally, there was yet another post. This time it was from yet another XOM Kool-aid drinker and tone deaf BTC supervisor on an expat at India BTC.

The LinkedIn post (with pics of award letters) started by the XOM supervisor stated how insensitive and hurtful it was for #ConocoPhillips to send one of the persons friends a congratulatory note congratulating him on his 15 years work anniversary when in the actuality the claimed friend was laid of 9 months prior to the arrival of the congratulatory note. The post went on saying that #ConocoPhillips should do better than this and suggesting that they should have atleast sent a gift card.

Several former XOM employees started commenting on the post reminding the poster how quickly it was forgotten that the posters current employer had also treated laid off employees poorly, hurtfully, and insensitively by also sending them congratulatory retirement letters months after their lay off, adding the laid off spouse on no access list, not sending or not completely sending their belongings etc.

As the post was attracting a lot of attention from former employees, those that got laid off and also those that kicked doors to and quit, the poster assumingly must have realized own exposure and/or possibly got alerted by HR or superiors to take the post down and guess what? The post was deleted.

Then the topic got posted here 4 times and even those threads got deleted too, presumably because the alleged LI poster or company rep. keeps shouting admin admin.

So to the site owners, why don't you just say how it is? Are you providing the site for people to discuss and share feelings on this site? Or Are there $$$s flowing under the table back to you all causing a conflict of interest for you all?

New prospects let this be your warning and consider in your decision making, unless ofcourse if you decide to jump in this sh-t Good Luck!

I couldn’t have said it better. Exactly, these team leads/supervisors create so much stress for us and make our lives miserable. I am glad some of them getting taste of their own medicine on this site.

Yet another drinker, or are you @1unn+1dkpnlvc ? I doubt if OP wants to spend his valuable time and energy on one person. As is the post written I do believe OP, I, and a lot others who have responded on this post just want to call out the ugliness of this organization and also the ugliness and mockery created by those employees who call themselves mgmt. Why are you having a heartburn? If you can't handle traffic (debate) then don't drive and stay off of the freeway.

We all encounter people we don’t like. There are even movies about this sort of thing. Ever watch Officespace? It’s called life. Most people just shrug it off and go on with their day. You seem to have an obsession with this person.

To the last comment about the toxic URC employee allowed to fail over and over while spreading toxicity…..been there, seen it over and over, and ultimately left. I would love to know who you are referring to…:what dept?

This company continues to promote the wrong people into leadership, buy senior manager and VPs who themselves are the wrong people. It’s a house of cards built on toxic corporate culture and it is finally catching up to ExxonMobil.

It goes to show how little ExMob mgmt understands of what’s going on that they promote someone universally loathed to the role of Upstream Culture Manager. Change is never easy, but putting a toxic d-mb as s in charge dooms the whole endeavor.
And as if that wasn’t enough of a failure, the higher ups still don’t grasp how poorly regarded some supervisors and managers are that they keep promoting them - very much like priests transferred after they mess up. Only in EnronMobil fu ckups are always ignored on the path of an anointed one. URC was full of destroyed projects and wasted potential after a hipo was sent to get their training wheels off.
In the case of her, Jhe was allowed to fail over and over, and none bothered to check with colleagues and underlings. They exported the failure internationally, so she can represent the worse ToxicMobil has to offer.
I wonder to what VP position would they bring her back to?
Please lord, let me be gone before that happens. Geoscience is already doomed; we have failure and our share of demoralizing clowns as is.
You guys in the BTC can keep her.

Any one questioning, just look at the Glassdoor reviews for the company, written by none other than current or former employees and what's common among all those reviews? Management's toxicity, inability to care for people, non transparency, and continual lies. Even benefits are no longer competitive, albeit HR and the mgmt. continues to claim that. Those managers that remain in their jobs think of rest below them and treat them as such.

If all of the above doesn't support the title of this thread and what would, I don't know. May be the corrupt mgmt. and equally corrupted admins of this site can chime in providing their share of story in their defense, but guess what? They won't. They will remain in hiding and attack others while under covers and delete any post that do not fit their agenda.

BTC has seen worse but she is definitely among the top worst expats to be sent to annoy and harass employees.

Having seen the original LI post all I can say is that the OP has only provided facts as they were written on the original LI post and nothing more other than using this as an example showing the general behavior of those in mgmt. at XOM.

If you still don't believe, the timing couldn't be right. Scan LI posts by those in mgmt. roles and you will find tons of posts full of fake pride and arrogance, from how great the company is to great SPOT dog to star gazing to not having any like opportunities anywhere else to a most recent one about empathy. In this empathy post the person talks about how extending an empathy to someone can solve problems. One example given was empathizing with someone who is middle of the pack makes the conversation smoother and possibly in favor of Mgr. deliverong message. But with this analogy if the person truly didn't deserve to be in the middle pack but higher and still ended in middle pack because of managers poor ranking or process flaw empathy is still not going to fix or change the persons ranking that he or she doesn't deserve. In other words, empathy provides someone an opportunity to feel being heard but it can't and shouldn't be used to forcefully diffuse the situation aka solve a problem as she articulated it.

Again, this just another example supplementing OPs example above. Not targeting a person but bringing out culture in people that work at XOM, especially mgmt. grades.

Seriously, who are these people and how they could come up with all these kind of soothing analogies and thoughts supporting and justifying own agendas?

The original thread got a lot of postings, from Houston to Bangalore, describing the toxic attitude of the person concerned, the pathetic climb to management of that person, so typical of EM today, and also contained the furious attempts of the person in question to intimidate people posting here, the latter being the ultimate confirmation of everything else other people said.
Even the second round of the thread got some similar and revealing comments, but eventually people got something else in their attention span, which is precisely why this thread has been serially deleted.
The way you defend this person after all that has happened to the threads, even when they contained zero personal information, tells us exactly who you are and what you stand for. So move on, we get enough of your ilk in each and every meeting at work.

In it they made personal attacks on the LI poster, making sweeping comments about what “everybody” thinks and comments about the looks of the individual. I don’t see you crying “bullying” for that. Based on that evidence, the interpretation is the OP has an axe to grind with the LI poster. That is not bullying.

The OP does not speak for me, therefore their comments about what “everyone” thinks are false and aggressive. And your comment accusing me of bullying says that you don’t actually understand what bullying is.

Not the OP here, but I know the horrible person, I’ve seen the shameless LI post, I’ve seen that persons’ abject threats on the original thread and I’ve also seen this post taken down four times, with far less reasons then some posts that concern VPs, with initials and even full names provided.
There’s something really fishy about these serial deletions.
Kudos to the OP for not letting it go.

The narcissism and self promotion is sooooo rampant at XOM these days. Even those that are current employees and not leaving the company have got addicted posing in front of and posting cube photos. I know the beauty contest always existed but didn't know about the photo contest but now I do.

These folks will claim one more bullet to their PDSs which could sound like this, "Self promoted the broken company image by delicately packaging and presenting it in a premium and positive light by posing directly in front of and under THE CUBE and posting it on LI claiming only best experiences working at XOM while hiding bad experiences, negativity, toxicity, deceitfulness, and lies under the rug (the smiley face)"
