Funny how we have all these "layoffs" yet headcount keeps going up.

Certainly not NYC headcount, that's for sure.
I know some divisions are hiring stateside, not sure how many positions but i def know there is some.
does the headcount include offshore wipro and cognizant contractors
That can't be, I was told my position was "eliminated". Same for my 4 co-workers who were let go.
Makes perfect sense, outsource as much work processes as possible to chennai and there you have your headcount increase. In the end you get what you pay for, some departments in India have so much staff that is unnecessary and it's rediculous.
