IBM has acquired Volta Networks as it muscles up in automation

Volta joins a line-up of other companies that IBM has recently bought, including Accanto, Instana, Turbonomic and, most famously, Red Hat, acquired for $34 billion in mid-2019.

Ibm will soon be 30B business and will keep decreasing until its equivalent to mainframes and associated software.
Elt are just milking it until it's finished.

Smart ceo would have realized this and instead of spending 34B on RH would have prepared to sell to one of the hyperscalers. But then how would they milk it.

Looks like we are back to the 2000-2010 (roughly) period when IBM was building up its software portfolio by buying companies...

Well, at the last Investor briefing, couple weeks ago, IBM announced that starting next year they will grow revenue 3B a year... so, since there is no organic growth the only solution is to buy revenue (aka companies)!!
