Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Please Explain the upcoming App

"Employees will upload their proof of vaccination through a secure app." Does anyone know anything about this app that's coming? In all honesty, the app is the biggest concern that I have. Some are saying the app will be used for contact tracing in addition to vaccine verification. The app will track your phones every move such that if you come in contact with another app user who test positive you will be pinged as a potential case and will be required to get tested before returning to work. Additionally, the "app" will become a necessary part of working here. It will track your vaccination status and future booster requirements going forward such that you will have to remain up to date and in good standing with the app in order to continue working here. I have not yet been vaccinated but I have serious concerns about using such an app and what its capable of. I need more information about the app and how it is planned to be used going forward before I can make the decision whether or not I continue working here.

@2oue+1dq3ZwfZ there has not been any email with details about the app or alternative methods for documenting vaccine status. I'm calling BS on your claims.

Ironically in all of this, we have to take a business code of conduct web class. "Treat others not as you want to be treated, but how they want to be treated." Yeah, right....and on top of that there's a survey!!!! the first question was do you like working for Honeywell!!!

"Some are saying the app will be used for contact tracing in addition to vaccine verification"

Who are the "some people" that you are talking to that said this because that just sounds like some sh-t you heard from a coworker at smoke break.

You don't need to use your phone at all. You can use your work computer and work email to upload your vax card. I tried to do it today, but I think their servers were slammed with everyone trying to do it at once.

You don't have to download anything to any phone, let alone your personal phone.

Everyone is losing their minds based off of an anonymous comment on a website claiming that "some people say" an app you don't have to install on the phone will track you.

I rest my case.

What if you don't have a cell phone? Will there be a PC version of the app? Asking for a friend.

My manager insisted that a have a company phone. I put it in my desk and it is still there. I guess I'll put the app on it and put it back in my desk.

Honeywell can make you install and use the app, but it can't police what device you use and mandate that you carry it while not at work.

Use the app on burner phone. If your site says you must carry it while working then get a faraday pouch that blocks all signals.

These apps need GPS,bluetooth and or mobile data to function properly. A faraday pouch blocks all of these making the app useless when it comes to contact tracing.

Way to go agile app development team.
Missed your product launch in a pretty big way.
Wasn’t there a townhall story about a team that built a covid app in four days?

Oh yeah.. those software multipliers gave notice.

Newsflash to all the people worried about being tracked. If you carry around a phone you can be tracked. You doomsday folks crack me up. Where were all of you when the Patriot Act was being implemented? You are probably the same people that criticized sn0wden even though he helped us. Why are you so worried anyway? What do you have to hide? If you are a law abiding citizen unlike most of our leaders for the past 40yrs, you will be just fine. Stop with all the control us talk, and this is just the beginning, and go smoke a phatty and relax. Paranoia leads to stupidity.

Get the App Don't get the App. Layoffs will happen either way. 2500 must go before 12/15 to save on 401K. Merry RIFmas everyone!

No way am I loading the Honeywell app on my phone. I require them to provide me with another phone on which they can track me but I am totally fine with being injected with an experimental untested gene therapy vaccine.

Go to the WEF website and search for "CovidApp". You will soon enough be required to get boosters and submit a blood/DNA sample in order to get an encrypted QR code in order to function in the new world order. Your app will eventually be tied to your federal digital currency account.

They better not require us to keep some app on our phones. That's invasion of privacy.
