AT&T 's revenue of %5.2B is a small cap company. There will need to be some headcount downsizing at GM and Executive levels to align to the new revenue expectations. Fact, AT&T has jettisoned assets quickly to just become a small telco company providing Wireless and Broadband services. There is no need to have 7 layers of management when your a small company and your revenue reflects a small cap. They are going to have to start passing out parachutes on floors 4 & 5 real soon to help the bottom line.

I pity the fool that say "bankruptcy" with quarter after quarter of profits.

Revenue is down by $1B y/y. Keep up the great work Stankey. How this guy remains CEO is beyond me. I wonder how much of the total debt he will force on Discovery when WM is spun off.

Well Stankey says we are half way to efficiency goals of reducing expense by six billion by end of year. So only three billion dollars more to go.

I guess a lot of that is coming from closing data centers, moving apps to Azure, retiring copper infrastructure.

Big question, how much more layoffs have to happen to hit his additional three billion dollars expense reduction goal? Eliminate medical subsidy for all retired folks? sell AT&T Mexico? Make employees pay even more for medical insurance? no more pension contribution? reduce vacation days to three week for every body so we don't discriminate against junior hires? Sell Digital Life? Sell more buildings and become a virtual company except for Dallas Taj Mahal? Move all network stuff to Microsoft cloud? Sell all remaining AT&T stores (we gone from 2500 to about 1200 now).

Ok what have I missed?

Missed on Revenue and free cash flow. You can't keep making EBITDA by cutting expense. If they don't get Revenue up then they will run out of options on making earnings

AT&T (NYSE:T): Q3 Non-GAAP EPS of $0.87 beats by $0.08; GAAP EPS of $0.82 beats by $0.21.
Revenue of $39.9B (-5.7% Y/Y) misses by $250M.
Adjusted EBITDA of $13.01B vs. a consensus of $12.97B, and free cash flow of $5.2B vs. $6.49B. Cash from operations of $9.9B.
Capital expenditures of $4.7B; gross capital investment of $5.7B and cash content spend of $4.8B.

The shaved head thing is so stupid. If you’re really proud of our work, give us bonuses and raises across the board. That’s how you make news and make people want to invest. Recognition that isn’t selfish and pointless.

Shaved head…. Please.

"Sweep the debt under the rug all you want, it won't go away."
The jury is out on that. With the advent of Modern Monetary Policy, the Federal Reserve "prints" money to finance deficits. We can see the inflation now.

They are currently engaged in this charade where they "print" the money and then "loan" it to the government, putting federal debt on the books of the Fed. But, it is print and spend.

It is quite possible with all this print and spending, that inflation will cheapen AT&T's outstanding debt, where much of it is structured medium and long term. If that happens, at least part of AT&T's debt could essentially disappear.

Have a nice, reassuring look at the debt that the Fed is piling onto its books using newly created ("printed") money.

And word now is, they want to replace Powell with a more dovish chair, which will result in increased Modern Monetary Theory.

It was just about 3 years ago when T said no more subsidized devices - those customers are not profitable. Heck if you are making a $1, that is profit and adds up when you consider the number of subs. With the changes in strategy (yep, another change) T is back to subsidizing devices - what will the story be in about 2 years when the first batch (from last years promo) will have paid off their devices and 5G is or is not class leading.

Glad you are here for the financial world to reference, I am sure the funds and such that hold billions in stock really appreciate you pointing stuff out.

Debt and the rotting media mistakes off the books. That’s a pretty pig you got their Stinky. Wait a day or 2 when the experts dissect the latest smoke and mirrors. It’s been the same for many quarters and if you believe there’s a sudden turn around in the middle of a pandemic with a supply chain disruption then I have a bridge to sell you. At this point it’s just shorting the dip buyers. Su…kers
