This is so short sighted. They want to pack the offices when cold weather is starting and vaccines are waning, plus that new variant starting up in the UK. What is their issue? They are making money hand or fist, and we’ve all been working more hrs from home. It’s just doesn’t make any sense. Now I’m fully vaccinated but haven’t disclosed and will be literally forced to disclose and then forced to come back into the office.

i've already been told by my manager that i will be taking on extra work in the near future. if that Nov 15th date is true, then it all makes sense. You all better get your act together because the bank will move forward without you.
Just keep, in mind, if you ignore the email and fail to update your vaccine status, you may be fired on November 15. No severance. Which means no unemployment benefits.
They are not playing games. If you think they won’t terminate however many people they need to, you’ve not been paying attention. All of you can be replaced easily. Never assume your role is so important that they will keep you not mater what. Many roles have shadow roles within the bank. There are backup plans for everything.
You think this wasn’t planned for years? They already know the percentage of people who will refuse to comply with the vaccine mandates and who will therefore be unemployable. This is not fear mongering, this is truth. Do with it what you want, it won’t change the fact if you are not vaccinated, you are not going to be a to work.
Final straw for me as well, I am looking for other opportunities, and will just let Nov 1 past with no update to status at that portal.
@1bvg+1dqurhic Absolutely nailed it
I work in HR, it was discussed today.
Here are the dates:
Nov 1- due date
Nov 2- letter of education (written warning) generated from Workday
Nov 9- Final written warning
Nov 15- termination
Keep in mind that if you get a written or a final that it will impact your yearend bonus eligibility as well, which I think is also the point.
I’ve lost all faith in the bank.
Apparently a large portion of the company has not reported status. Ignore the email and don't play the game. Nov 1 can come and go. It's your personal medical information and your decision to share it. They can't fire half or a quarter of the company for not disclosing. Take a stand; together we are strong.
By now you should all realize it was never about your health or a virus….
Let that sink in.
Things are getting worse. I’m double jabbed, thought that would be all I had to do, but it’s clear boosters are on the horizon. And I am not getting any more vaccines. Period.
No doubt in my mind they are pushing out the defiant unvaxxed. I’m sure by thanksgiving they will be swift with the next steps. I think a lot of people are going to get their walking papers.
We’re so fooked.
@qvv+1dqurhic How do you know the Bank won’t fire people for noncompliance? Seriously, are you just assuming or do you have actual first hand knowledge?
@pda+1dqurhic By no means do I think it’s right, but I think BofA is going to make life very very difficult for the unvaccinated. Separate work location, twice a week testing at your expense, etc etc. Again, I don’t support their position but I think they will try to push the unvaccinated to quit.
@bgs+1dqurhic I’m vaccinated but never disclosed since it wasn’t previously a requirement.
Now? I will reluctantly comply and disclose my status. I just can’t jeopardize my job standing at this time, I have a family to support.
Then I am going to immediately contact my area’s HR rep and begin laying out the facts to contest a return to office. Fight it as best as I can based off of some personal circumstances. Probably have to stick it out for a few months until bonuses etc are paid in Feb. if the Bank hasn’t allowed a hybrid or more flexibility by that time then I will hope to move on.
In the meantime I am planning to escalate my job search. The Bank’s handling of RTO is just about the last straw with me.
this is yet another, in a long line, of scare tactics meant to get even more people jabbed.
11/1 will pass and not a damn thing will change.
be strong
So with all that being said, what are our options? Those that are vaccinated but haven’t disclosed - what will y’all do? They first tried the intimidation tactic of not providing the $250 Wellness credit if we didn’t disclose, but I thought whatever, $250
Is worth my peace of mind. Now they’re saying we have to disclose by the first, I.e. we have no choice.
Ba--s of steel or completely ton deaf.
This place will continue to see mass Exodus of whatever talent or loyalty is left.
Keep shouting "talent shortage" with your low compensation and poor benefits. The only person who is willing to happily work here is someone in India.
The bank already lacks diversity in many tech areas. It's swaths of folks from one country who only hire their own.
The culture will change for sure...
The short sighted date is to push as many as possible back to butts in seats mode. They now say they are obligated to the id--tic mandates by senile Biden.
They won't fire anyone for not putting in by Nov 1. It's a scare tactic.
You will just get multiple reminders.
It's a banks way of putting pressure on a workforce it can control...this is why they love folks brought over on visa. Comply or be sent back to India. It doesn't work for Americans...
The memo did not state what the consequences are for not registering your vaccine status by the 01-Nov date. Would be a valuable piece of information.
the shot-pushers are getting really, really desperate. it's painful to watch.
This is an attrition plan wrapped up in a faux "we are better all together" propaganda message. This is a cost cutting move to reduce headcount and likely outsource more roles to India.
that portal isnt going away anytime soon. You will have to keep uploading boosters every 6 months.
the bank may have a mutiny on it's hands soon including those who RTO'd
Boomer mentality bank...the bleeding of talent will continue.
All they will have to hire is more H1Bs...literally the company is already like half of them.
Those guys have no choice to put up with anything including abuse and their status to remain in the US is tethered to the company. Maybe that's what they want.
Already interviewing!
I'm vaccinated but my vaccine was administered in April and so technically I'm unvaccinated at this point, according to Pfizer's statement on 6 month efficacy.
I think the company wanting to exert power over their workforce. I believe the pandemic made them think they weren't in absolute control because they can't walk around and see their employees. It is sign they think in old ways.
The actions show no concern for our health! I've been considering leaving. This looks like the end for my decade of service.
