It is interesting that the dividend is staying the same, after becoming a smaller company. I wonder how long we can sustain this.

Yes, reason why if you own some IBM stock today you should it sell NOW!

IBM stock will only go down going forward.

Years ago I remember seeing news about some of the C Suite and VPs selling large amounts of their stock. It was around 190 then, so I sold all of mine. Never came close to that since.

@3hax,

Remember that "Racial equity" is racism.
And yes, that's totally part of their problem.

I see the racism is still alive and well across IBM.

Hmmm, I don't suppose that could possibly be part of the problem...

Board set executive incentive as "earnings per share" and they did exactly that and everything else suffered. Maybe they should change the incentive to "market cap" and see what happens.

This by no means is any defense of Arvind... but let’s not forget the thieves Rometty and Palmisano who cost cut IBM into a pathetic company! They ran off with the money and destroyed the company. How could a CEO worry about cost cutting over growth? They should be in jail for theft.

Racial equity is more important than a bottom line.
We will hire more people of color no matter their skill set.

They should take some advise from the GOAT

“ Invite the third world, become the third world.”

Yeah right, like Microsoft after Satya or Google after Sundar…

This is solely IBM’s mess - caused by prior executives, continued into the present. Blame our “first world” Ginni as much as anyone else!

Arvind is a fake, woke leader. Another in the line of bad IBM leaders. IBM's management will 100% run this great American icon into the ground & pretty soon. They're hiring & promoting based only on Diversity quota now, merit does not even matter. That is, if the bright ones want to join this terrible company at all.

Everything now comes down to one (well, two) number. This is the last thing Arvind can control. That number is the KD dividend (and the resulting IBM dividend.) There will be about 1/4 as many KD shares as IBM (IBM shareholders get a 5:1 distribution and IBM retains about 20%) We were promised that when the sun rises on November 4, the combined dividend would be the same as the IBM dividend today. And that's the only promise. If IBM wants to be a Tesla style growth stock, Arvind has to dump all of the dividend on Kyndryl. But that is beyond unsustainable. (Whatever dividend KD pays in 2021, it will be cut big time because that is not a company that can afford that.) If IBM continues to pay a fat dividend, it will have no free cash flow to build a hybrid could nirvana. It won't even be able to pay down its huge debt. So after Arvind has been playing both ends against the middle for so long now, he has to grow up and throw down two (related) numbers.

Hit me Arvind; what's the plan??
