Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Constructive use of this Portal

It would be ideal if we could actually use this portal as a way to organize collective opposition to BofA executive directives… I.e. Demanding flexibility with where we can work… Demanding wage increases consistent with productivity and inflation.

Instead there is too much pro vax / anti vax debate on this portal which isn’t constructive at all. (Plus a bored troll or two)

Employees of other companies and industries are collectively pushing back on management to demand better working conditions and pay. It doesn’t take a union to accomplish this.

Let’s work together instead of attacking each other’s vaccine positions.

For those that want a union or even act like a union, have fun at your next job. Go ahead, call the CWA or some other union and once the union goons who are "on your side" get in the door, you can kiss job good bye. Ask any steelworker who made it through the 80s. 1940 > 1980s the average union worker made 75% more than a non-union worker at another mill. I'm sure most people will say "How can 75% higher wages be a bad thing?" Simple economics, if the company pays their employees at such a high rate, then the mill can't upgrade the machinery as expected to keep up with the competition. So, if net profit is < or = to employee wages because the union "negotiated" a "good contract", then your job, the mill, and your town are all gone in less time than it took to build that mill your family once relied on. Seeing the point yet? Go ahead, make demands, stage a walkout or sick-out, and watch how fast you are let go because of "performance issues". Two words is all it takes and even your union rep won't get your job back for you. Oh yeah, do you think your Local 6520 leadership cares? No. Why? Because they still have a job even if you don't.

Vaccinated or not, no one should report into this tool.

This is why we need a union and have for a long time. But it's too late now.

Good luck.

I don’t care about anything except my and my family’s health. This pandemic has shown wfh is the way to go if you want to be protected. Life is short, I don’t want to spend it around people I don’t care about, who don’t care about their own health or families, and just live to make money or gossip.

collectivism isn't going to get you out of this mess. that much should be clear, to anyone paying attention to the past 20 months.

why are people so scared to speak up on their own, quit or wait it out to be fired? Im not jabbed and wont be. If they can me, so be it. I have excellent equity in my home, we are well saved/invested, and I have easily transferrable skills.

working at BOA and other banks isnt the only way to finance your lifestyle.

I have no emotional l attachment to the bank or its people. I ended up here via 2008 Merrill problems. If this must end over a jab, that's ok. I never had big dreams of working at BOA.

Did you guys?

We should use https://doxbin.org and https://example.com/ to post sensitive information. These guys here just take it down when they don't like it.

A walk out seems or sick out appears to be working to get attention

Everyone should try to connect with co-workers to encourage them to ask for a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Speak up to managers and encourage others to do the same.
